I can’t begin to type out here how grateful I am for the insane amount of support I got this week. The combatives tournament feels like a fever dream now and my body feels like it was hit by a truck from all of the adrenaline dumps, but I couldn’t be happier. My battalion showed up in full force to back me up, drowning out the entire warehouse with chant’s and screams. I couldn’t have asked for better teammates, better coaches, or better friends. Coming up short by points in the championship fight is bitter sweet and I definitely got too trigger happy(slapping the crap out of him when they’re not worth points and strait palm strikes weren’t allowed. Don’t ask me I wasn’t in charge.) when I should’ve been stacking actual points, but this and more are just lessons for next time. Afterwards I kept being referred to as the people’s champ around my battalion area, and all I can really say to that title is that there’s no people’s champ without the people that were there pushing me on. Thank you to the list of people that’s way too long to make here, you all know who you are. All glory to God☦️

You may have your reasons, but you could take the hard road again… by @jordan.bouma0224

Last hard training session before game day. The hard parts over, now I’ve just gotta show up.

It’s not about being the best one in the room, it’s not even about being the last one in the room; it’s about who goes in the room when nobody else will.

Not slowing down. Finally got my hands on last months comp footage. Sharpening my style every day and evolving the details when I can.

Still keeping at it. This long term experiment of utilizing movements often used by Russian wrestlers when focusing on conditioning is going pretty well. Work has slowed down the progress of getting back to 180-185, but hasn’t stopped it. Mat time is strictly focused on competing, no more easy rolls.

In full effect. Keeping an elevated hinge on the see-saw rows, pulling with power, and holding that neutral spine best I can. First time doing cable pummels and loved em, especially once they got a little fluid. P.S. TRY THEM! Trying to get the most bang for my buck so gobble (not goblet, there’s a difference) box squats with dumbbells to emphasize on core tension and stability throughout the squat, and the classic, often ignored chin-up to put a cherry on top…. Oh yeah, I’m back btw and the ronas not about to slow me down. Might be working towards voiceover videos to start making these a bit more educational, hopefully helping some folks along the way.

You are an axe. Your strength is the weight of the axe-head. Your technique is the sharpness of the edge. All strength with no technique and you're just a hammer. All technique but no strength and you're a paring knife. But if you have both, you can chop any tree down.
