I’m excited to announce that exactly one week from today, I will be graduating from the illustrious Winston-Salem State University! Being here has taught me a lot and shown me what perseverance, growth, and true community truly looks like. I’m forever grateful for the experiences, friendships, and lessons I have made here. Dear Freshman Year, I made good friends and learned a lot about myself. My first semester at WSSU got off to a mediocre start, and I finished with a 2.72 GPA. I was a little bit disappointed in myself because I knew I could have done better. So during my second semester here, I worked extremely hard. As a result, I made the Dean’s List and finished my freshman year with a 3.32 GPA. Dear Sophomore Year, You’ve taught me a lot. Not only did I make more good friends this year, but I also became a more sociable person. I got more involved on campus by joining clubs, and I was able to engage more with my major. By doing so, I was able to build on my connections, which eventually led to new opportunities. Dear Junior Year, This was by far my most successful year of college. I was offered a work-study Help Desk position in I.T., which gave me the experience and insight I needed to learn about key aspects of technology. On top of that, I was blessed to receive an internship from Nationwide, allowing me to gain real-life experience in my field of study. I also pledged the most prestigious fraternity of them all—Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.! By doing so, I now have brothers for life and access to a vast and supportive network. Dear Senior Year, This was my most productive year. The reason being is that I had the opportunity to attend a couple of tech conferences where I learned about various companies and their cultures. I was also elected to a position within my fraternity, serving as the Parliamentarian. And last but certainly not least, I was offered a full-time position with Nationwide! 4x Deans Lists Student CLMC General Body 2024-2025 Work Study Student 2022-2025 #hbcugrad @bryce_mccutcheon 📸 by @jordann.clt
