Lost in time, found in Cusco. by @jordanpacheco._
HYROX DC Solo Debut 🤝 More than a race for me. About four months ago, I impulse-bought a ticket with no experience and barely any knowledge of the sport. I didn’t do it to join a movement or follow a trend. I did it because I wanted to create a milestone for myself. I had struggled with consistency for a while, but this gave me something to work toward. So I went with it. I walked into this knowing I wasn’t the fastest, the lightest, or the most experienced. But I knew I was willing to work. Around this time last year I suffered a pretty serious knee injury that resulted in a temporary patellar dislocation, a high-grade MPFL tear, a bone bruise, and a grade 2 MCL sprain. For a while, I wasn’t sure if I’d ever feel as explosive or athletic again. But through patience, rehab, and staying consistent, I’m slowly proving to myself that an injury doesn’t have to define what comes next. From waking up at the crack of dawn to train, working long hours and days, and still finding the discipline to show up for myself, getting to this moment wasn’t easy. There were plenty of mental, physical, and emotional speed bumps along the way that tested me. I knew I needed something to compete in. I just didn’t know what, or more importantly, why. Somewhere along the way, I found my why. There were moments during the race when my body wanted me to stop. My legs were cramping, my back was on fire, and the finish line felt further away than ever. But I kept moving. And when I crossed that finish line, I realized I wasn’t just proud of the time on the clock. I was proud of the person I had to become to get there. Lastly, a huge thank you to everyone who supported me, trained with me, checked in on me, or simply believed in me. Every text, call, cheer, and word of encouragement meant more than you know.❤️ This one was for me, but I’m grateful I didn’t have to do it alone. My first HYROX. Finished. 🏁 One race down. A lot more to prove. See you at the next one💪🏽 by @jordanpacheco._
