Imagine 40,000 people watching a stage completely reinvent itself in a matter of minutes. One moment, it’s AMF, the next, it’s David Guetta’s Monolith. @amffestival

Our design for AMF brought two concepts together without compromising on either. Integrating moving LED screens on sliders in the design allowed a brief changeover from all the artists performing on the AMF stage to the Monolith: the transparent screens in the front slid outwards, the middle screens came together and the stage transformed into the iconic Guetta-setup.

And that’s just what happened with the stage design. We also created custom show content and took the reins of VJing throughout the night. During Armin van Buuren’s performance, our very own Team Armin took over front of house, bringing the new Armin show to the Johan Cruijff ArenA.

The rest of the arena got the full treatment, too. LED bar columns, moving heads and pyrotechnics brought the production into the crowd, while suspended trusses in an X formation stretched across the sides and back of the venue.

All of this with one rather important detail: an Ajax game occupied the arena on Thursday evening. That left the Insomniac team just 36 hours to build before Saturday’s show. It’s a tight turnaround that made smart design and an efficient setup just as important as the final look.

Our favorite moments from Electric Love 💗 @electricloveaut

The best festival moments are hard to put into words.
The lights coming on as the sun disappears. Thousands of people moving and singing as one. That first drop hitting at the Mainstage. The colours, the noise, the energy and that feeling that, for a moment, everyone is exactly where they’re supposed to be.

For 14 years, we’ve had the privilege of helping shape that feeling at the Electric Love Festival. This edition, we designed the stage and visual show, operated the experience through VJing and show calling, and created the timecode show for the opening ceremony.

But in the end, what matters is your memories of the whole weekend.
Tonight at 20:00, the Electric Love aftermovie brings some of them back.
