Putting together the sides. Including chape and the gusset. Where gusset is an extra piece of material to add space and create structure (also used in engineering and construction).

This is a structured bag, what means the pieces are reinforced for stability. Thats why i use strips to connect the gusset to the panels in the front and the back.

Just love how design, aesthetics, functionality, and construction can work so nicely together 🖤

Putting together the handle chape.
Historically the term „chape“ refers to a protective metal casing, such as the tip of a sword scabbard or the plate connecting a buckle to a belt.
What a wonderful word 🖤

The AMP BOX bag perfectly fits into a loud concert. Fitting during preparations and steady when things get started.

Handmade from beautiful deadstock leather i can collect from @moebelberger a local upholstery.

Finishing the buckle with magnets and everything. I just love how the leather machine kinda walks over the piece 🖤

So this is how i start out when working on a new design. The first prototype was tested. Now i know where some weaknesses are. Better stabilised, with dead stock material of course.
Here’s how the AMP-BOX bag is drafted and the main pieces cut.
Next I’ll be putting some of the smaller parts together.
