Are you ready for the London Hawaiian? Our take on a classic, with some help from @metronomy.

“Come over here, kid, learn something. You never know, you might have to cook for 20 guys someday… “

On Sunday we swapped our neutral interiors for red gingham linens and trattoria chic, as we teamed up with @joshbythesea and @deliveroo Reservations to host a one-off NY-Italian family-style Sunday Lunch. AKA Sunday Gravy.

Thanks to everyone who came down for red-sauce, meatballs, Negronis and Josh’s nonna’s tiramisu.

Next Sunday, come to Dove for a New York Italian-inspired feast. @jackson_boxer has kindly allowed me to put on a menu of polenta bread, calamari, deep-fried lasagne and huge plates of spaghetti and meatballs. Plus tiramisu, obviously. All this to be enjoyed on red gingham, with good music, and simple white and red wine. It should be lots of fun.

Thanks also to @deliveroo for supporting us. Tickets available exclusively via Deliveroo Reservations at deliveroo.co.uk/reservations, or search ‘Dove’ in the Reservations section of the Deliveroo app and choose October 25 as the date. £50 for a drink and the full menu. @i.feel.dove.

Not surprised @napoli_ontheroad was just named the world’s best best pizza by @50toppizza. @iammichelepascarella and team do fine work. Here are a few shots from his mad tasting menu, reviewed last month.

Costa. Not a purveyor of top-tier coffee, but a place to find serviceable refreshment to wake up with, to down as a last resort when running for a train or hungover to the hilt. As for toasties and the wraps, well, are there any more anaemic, more flabby on the market? And yet, our high streets remain in a Costa chokehold. But how?

At the link in @theipaper’s bio Josh Barrie uncovers how, even with financial challenges and a changing market, Costa remains the go-to for millions of British commuters. by @joshbythesea
