The Dark Wizard - All four episodes now streaming on @hbomax. Thanks to @hbodocs for the incredible support. And to the entire team at @senderfilms and @reelrock for the last three years of hard work and passionate dedication to telling Dean Potter’s story. Deep gratitude to Dean’s family, friends, rivals, chroniclers, and co-conspirators, for sharing your insights, assets, and emotions. Huge respect to my partners Peter Mortimer and Nick Rosen, who brought this project to life and steered the ship as directors. Thanks @dandeacon for creating the beautiful score, @barrythompsonartist for leading the graphics team, and everyone at @postworksnewyork who managed the epic mix, color, and mastering process. And to my family, thanks for your patience and support as I went deep and dark, around the clock, on the edit this past year. Fly Free Dean. #TheDarkWizard by @joshlowell
Today would have been Dean Potter’s birthday. Episode 1 of our new series about him, The Dark Wizard, launches tonight on HBO. Amazing premiere event last night in LA, and of course it happened to be on Yosemite Drive. Thanks to @hbodocs for all the support and the whole @senderfilms team for the hard work. by @joshlowell

@joshlowell sent over those shots on a group chat we share with @brettlowell and @obe_carrion from our now iconic road trip back in 1999 when we filmed “Rampage”. Back when things where a whole lot simpler. Aside from being a personally very formative time, and developing some of the deepest friendships of my life (to this day some of my best friends) it’s so cool to see how that film impacted climbing and specifically bouldering culture and how many people got inspired from it. Good times dudes! Love you guys! Let’s do it again but with a nicer RV next time please @joshlowell 😂🙏 If you haven’t already seen it head over to the @reelrock YouTube channel to watch it! 📸 @pictures_of_fidelman @rollettstudios @prana by @joshlowell
