Brotherhood. Sharing some of my favorite moments from @mybrothermyfriendfilm in honor of its acceptance into the Chicago South Asian Film Festival @csaffestival earlier this fall! What a joy to see @emil.irimpan , @varunv18 , and their tribe come together to bring this story to life. Was also infinite fun to DP this alongside my film brother (reoccurring themes here you see) @alexkchandp as well as the whole crew who made this lil project in Pennsylvania something so special. Here’s to more of these 🙌. CAST: Manu: @kharsama Vish: @amoghxkapoor #csaffestival2025 #csaffestival #csaff2025 sid.gopinath Yeaaaaaah!!! AARMY- Force of Nature Directors cut for AARMY athlete series. A look at the athlete beyond the physical act of training. The idea was to move between the motif of the microscopic and the elemental. Forces within us and the forces around us, and the mindset it takes to become a force of your own. Been a little bit of the Bay Area in my life lately by @joshuapei
Grateful to have been able to capture these images of such a beautiful sport in its home country of Thailand. When @thomaskasem told me about this local gym the night before, I was excited to watch a sport I love, but I didn’t expect to step into such an experience. This space had a respect and culture that is lost on western tourists like me - even in the Bangkok heat, collared shirts and long pants were required for entry. The majority of the seats were reserved for local Thai, with a section to the side bleachers allowed for foreigners (shoutout to Thomas for sitting right on the border of those seats in the foreigner section with me). Every fight was preceded and later cadenced by traditional music and ritual. We talked to a couple Thai OGs and found out many of the fighters were teenagers who already had many fights under their belts. I stupidly held up fingers when asking about fighter ages and nearby had myself added to the betting pool. My degenerate self can only equate the overwhelming roars of the crowd as fighters landed strikes back and forth to those moments at the club where someone is screaming into your ear over the drone of music so loudly that it physically hurts your eardrum. In a world of sports showboating, these fighters showed such a level of reserve and respect to their opponents, even when their sport is combat. by @joshuapei
With food, Ali reflects on every step of his immigrant experience, shares and pays homage to his Iranian heritage, and always intends to take very good care of his guests. Thank you, Ali, for showing us the Iranian tradition of what it means to be a good host. All of our thoughts are with the people of Iran in this trying time 💚🤍❤️ For the full short film, you can find the link in our bios 🎞️ Restaurant: @eyval_brooklyn Prod Co: @4thdistrictco Dir: @peter_ackerman_ Prod: @aaronwenli, @peter_ackerman_ Camera: @aaronwenli, @ericwxng, @peter_ackerman_ INTV DP: @joshuapei Music: @amir_sanjari_composer Drums: @lil.g.finn Music Supervisor: @bmathai Credits Music: @mehrnam_rastegari Editor: @peter_ackerman_ Additional Editor: @aaronwenli Colorist: @jacobchangphoto Sound Mix: @michaelscottartuso SFX Editor: @tiffanyfaithwalter Audio Post: @bronxaudio Teaser Edit: @ericwxng 🎞️ by @joshuapei

At @eyval_brooklyn you’ll feel cared for the second you step through the door. Warm, alive, and homey, it’s vibrant Iranian-American dishes move quickly from the kitchen to diners’ tables, the comforting hum of 80’s Persian hits playing in the background. When you pass through the swinging double doors into Ali Saboor’s kitchen, you will find him leading his team with a balanced calm. Kabob Koobideh goes straight from the fire to the plate, Ali makes a few swift final touches, and it’s off. Ali prepares every plate out of love and his life experiences, from growing up in Iran, fleeing war for America, finding his passion for cooking, and eventually coming back to his Persian roots. We want to thank Ali, Priscila, and the whole Eyval family for welcoming us with such open arms, generously sharing their stories, and for insisting that our crew put down our cameras and enjoy the best kebabs and lamb shank Adas Polo we’ll probably ever eat. Psyched to share that Skin Deep had its PNW premiere earlier this month at the 20th Tasveer Film Festival - the only Oscar-qualifying South Asian film festival in the world. Time feels like it’s been flying lately, and it’s crazy to think that it’s been almost two years since we shot this film with this amazing crew. Stories like this are THE REASON my heart belongs to film, and seeing this piece get the love it deserves is just the cherry on top. Ty @theredreddy for your trust on this story and ty @rheadudani for bringing me on to make magic with you. Infinite love to everyone who supported and made this film possible 🫶 Writer/Director: @theredreddy EP: @rheadudani Producer: 👋 DoP:: @mikanotmika Casting Director: @shan_corey Editor: @whmayo Associate Producer: @sara_resh AD: 👋 1st AC: @taylorandrewmyers 2nd AC: @thomaskasem Gaffer: @instacaiya Grip: Dylan Henderson Swing: @hannah.godfrey PD: @uberabe Art Assist: Anika Maram Script Supervisor: @k.ey.a DIT: @shuajoti Composer: @alihelnwein Sound designer: @ethan_z_ Sound mixer: @1tonycharles_ MU/wardrobe: @ritamaekup VFX: Josef Maxwell CAST @krishna.doodnauth @sway_bhatia @brancipants @darrian.x @jessisarush by @joshuapei
