Am soooo excited to finally lunch the Faces Behind the Camera with @habiba_y_bobi my exceptional friend and co-host.

Faces Behind the Camera is there to capture the stories and safeguard the history of photographers (creative).

So we venture into the world to capture he who holds the camera,
just maybe we could turn the lenses and tell the story of the photographers:
➢ Capturing their reality
➢ Documenting it
➢ Safeguarding it
➢ Sharing it to the world

Storytelling as a Videographer

Thank you, Ene @ennymarie_star @journalism_with_enny for sharing your knowledge and experience with us. You showed us that videography is more than capturing moments — it can tell stories, amplify voices, and create real impact. Hearing how your work helped students living in a Fulani settlement access scholarships was such a beautiful reminder of the power of storytelling. 🤍

FRAMEHER 🤍 | Thank you for showing up for us.

It’s not just about what we do today, it’s about creating a better tomorrow.

In this video, our CEO shares the dream behind this initiative and what we hope to build for every child who takes part, a space where their creativity is nurtured, their voices are heard, and their potential is given room to grow.
This summer isn’t one to be missed. Every child, regardless of where they come from, deserves the opportunity to experience a world that supports their creative mind.

Because for us, this is more than a summer programme. It’s about creating opportunities, building confidence, and investing in the kind of future where every child can thrive.
The goal is continuity, creating an impact that goes beyond today and into tomorrow.

This is how we keep the feeling 🤍

For STILL BECOMING, we have @journalism_with_enny and @kahlibrown as our Media Partners.

They’ll be documenting the exhibition — the kids noticing small things, the conversations, the stillness, the community.

So that even if you can’t be here, the story finds you.

🇳🇬 Before the era of double-taps, character counts, and endless scrolling, human stories lived on parchment and paper 📜

In our latest video, we're diving into Scripta, the beautiful Latin root for "written things." It’s a gentle reminder that every book on our shelves is a continuation of a centuries-old tradition of sharing human experiences.

For the past 2 months, @destinedstars_initiative has been on an incredible journey discovering young talents across Chika, Alyeita, and Galadima communities.

Meeting young people aged 7–25 and witnessing their creativity, passion, and determination has been truly inspiring. The talent, confidence, and potential we have seen remind us why we do what we do.

It's been an amazing experience, and we're excited for what's ahead.

But we didn't stop at identifying their talents we went further to train and mentor them in their areas of strength, helping them develop their skills and build confidence.

This weekend, we'll be selecting the outstanding participants who will earn a spot in our Summer School Programme.

Come and see what these amazing young talents have been working on you'll be inspired by what they've got!

THE GIRL WHO RETURNED TO HER DREAMS
"They thought my story had ended. Mine is just beginning.”

My name is Safiya Yakubu.

I am 18 years old, and I come from a small community here in Abuja.

There was a time I was just a girl who loved school…
I loved learning, I loved books, and I dreamed like every other child.

But my life changed when I was 13.

I was taken out of school and given into marriage.
At that age, I didn’t fully understand what it meant… I only knew that my world had suddenly become smaller.

I became a wife.
Soon, I became a mother.

But life did not go the way I had hoped.

I lost my children.

Not one… but two.

That kind of pain changes you.
It is something you carry quietly, even when no one can see it.

For a long time, my dreams felt far away… almost impossible.

But somehow, my story did not end there.

I was given another chance,
a chance to return to school.

Today, I am in JSS 2.

And this time, I am not just going to school…
I am chasing something.

I have a sponsor who believes in me, who is willing to see me through my secondary school journey.
And for the first time in a long time, I feel like my future is possible again.

I love to read.

In just one week, I finished over six novels.
Books take me to places I have never been… they remind me that there is more to life, and more waiting for me. @spine_and_label I felt like I should never leave😊 that space is magical...

Now, I dream again.

I want to become a doctor.
I want to help my people.
I want to give back, especially to girls like me, girls whose stories almost ended too soon.

My name is Safiya Yakubu.

And this…
is just the beginning of my story.
