Feel it all! #bluewave #celebrate by @joyful_pause

This photo captures a final moment of levity for the almost 95 souls who attended the @presencing Institute’s Presencing Foundations Program last week in Philadelphia. Hosted by @insytepartners , people, teams, and networks came for a week of deep transformation that they’ll take back to the systems they belong to. We witnessed and heard stories of profound inner shifts, sparks of new ideas across teams, and networks leaving fired up and ready to go. I was so glad to be part of the facilitation team this year. The week was truly a chance to live what we were teaching. 🙏🏾 by @joyful_pause

This past weekend, @arawanahayashi and I led the Social Presencing Theater Basics program in Philadelphia. Almost 30 amazing souls gathered to learn more about how to bring deeper awareness into their own experience, what happens in small groups, and what happens larger social fields. The social arts invite us to learn, from being together, what might be possible for us as a larger society. #spt #connection #presence by @joyful_pause

“Allowing the wisdom of our bodies and minds to lead over a 2-day period felt transformational.

There was so much connection and shared learning from leaders working in a variety of fields from finance, academia and even non-profit spaces like my own.

Beautiful work over two days and I am continuing to integrate the information even a year later!”

I love this testimonial, as it highlights one of the things I appreciate most about Social Presencing Theater — how it brings together people with diverse experiences and perspectives, and invites us to learn not just through conversation, but through direct experience.
The insights don’t stay in the workshop. They continue to unfold long after the gathering ends.
If you’re curious about slowing down, expanding your awareness, and exploring new ways of connecting with yourself and others, join us for Social Presencing Theater Basics. Starts Friday!

What we tend shapes what can grow.

Across these weeks, we’ll explore tending as both a personal and relational practice—making space for ourselves, receiving care, witnessing one another, and recognizing the ways we are already connected.

Because tending does not happen in isolation.

Together we tend what matters.

Completing our introductions to the practitioners from the Tend Collective Founding Circle who will be holding this journey with us:

Popped over to Queens this the weekend to see @tvontheradio play. Such a long time since I’d seen them + they were just as electric and skull-rocking as I remembered. Loved this song from Dear Science. Loved dancing with strangers. What a life-giving early 49th bday present for me. 🎂 #flushingmeadowscoronapark by @joyful_pause

While this ended up being a video of someone else’s video, the sounds of @beaccchhoussse in my ears was a dream come true! At one point I had enough space around me, and the air was cool, and it felt like everything else faded away but the music. Like my mind merged with the notes into a natural altered state. Transported. The guy next to me said “This is my church,” and I felt the truth of that for me too. 💕 #flushingmeadowscoronapark #nighttoremember by @joyful_pause

Thank you to everyone who came out to Theory U Philly and @just.listening_ 's debut presentation of American Village for @fringearts! Thank you too to our friends at the @theperch_musicandarts_workshop, @jeffcarpineta and @elisesmark.

We spent time together in practices that helped us all slow down and feel grounded. When we feel grounded, we can show up better for ourselves, for each other, and for our communities.

The America we want to see starts with how we show up. Thank you for bringing your whole self, your open heart, and your care. It was a gift to share this time with you.

We hope you left feeling a little more calm, a little more connected, and ready to contribute. Till next time...

Last but certainly not least, my cup of gratitude runeth over to all my American Village conspirers - @sterlingduns, @joyful_pause, @lisajoepstein, @arawanahayashi, @solmslizalperin @mariemcc05, Brenna McGinnis and Sara Mariah Montijo. Thank you.

Social Presencing Theater helps us practice possibilities. Through movement and awareness practices, Social Presencing Theater Basics allows us to explore questions like:

What are we creating together?
What do I contribute to a social body or a social field?

In one recent embodiment practice, participants noticed moments of openness and boundaries, leadership and followership, curiosity and caution. They also noticed joy. Not as an escape from what’s happening in the world, but as a reminder of our capacity to create something different.
We are shaping our communities one interaction at a time.

@arawanahayashi and I will be leading Social Presencing Theater Basics training October 16-17. If If you’d like to explore these questions above in your own body—not just in your mind—join us! This pic is from last year’s cohort.

Last week @arawanahayashi and I led an Embodied Systems Sensing training for a wonderful team at a nonprofit in Michigan. It brings me so much joy to support people in deepening their awareness around systems and how to expand their ability to hold the whole. The bonus was a walk around the grounds after the session was complete. Nature offered many messages. 💕 #systemsthinking #systemssensing #awareness #socialpresencingtheater by @joyful_pause

First, we meditate. Then we inquire, How does your body want to move (rather than how you think you should move)? What do you want to co-create with other souls inhabiting bodies? Come out and do a practice that invites you deeper into your authentic movement. Sunday, 9/20, at Shambhala Center Philly, 10 am to noon. Register at the #linkinbio🔥🔥🔥🔥 by @joyful_pause
