“They’ll think you’re weird!” GOOD!! Because I don’t want anyone in my life who thinks dancing and having fun is weird. 🤣 I started posting my lifting journey and my dancing between sets about a year ago, and I lost followers immediately 🤣 and that is perfectly okay with me! It’s scary to be yourself unabashedly, but that’s the only way you find the people who are genuinely meant for you. Even though some people unfollowed me, this last year has been filled with more meaningful connections and friendships than ever before. It was a year of self expression and finding the community meant for me! 🥹 Some people will find me weird or awkward. But the people who I actually care about see me for who I am. And they love me, just as I love them. 🫶🏼 Go be weird. Go have fun. Because “those that mind don’t matter, and those that matter don’t mind.” 🌱 #yoga #yogapractice #yogateacher #selfacceptance #selfexpression #connection #community #findyourjoy #joyfulrootsyoga by @joyfulrootsyoga
Introducing Joyful Roots Yoga! ☺️🌱 When I originally created this account, I wanted a name to reflect my passion for serving those who feel like outsiders, or black sheep. I knew that coming to a yoga class was very intimidating for marginalized groups because the classes are often not created with them in mind. And although I do still feel passionate about this, my perspective has changed over the last couple years. My goals have realigned. Joyful Roots is a name that my husband actually thought of! Caleb is truly behind every good decision I’ve ever made 🫶🏼 He and I have this shared dream of one day owning a nonprofit that helps survivors of abuse/trafficking AND rescues animals from similar situations. We dream of having this sanctuary where humans and animals can come together to heal each other. Obviously yoga would be involved, too. 😉 A few weeks ago, Caleb woke up and had a dream where we called it the Joyful Roots Sanctuary. 🥹 It pays homage to both of our wonderful upbringings (our joyful roots) while also honoring our love for the outdoors and animals. It’s PERFECT! I haven’t stopped thinking about this name since hearing it. It resonates so deeply with me. Although we are not yet ready to start our sanctuary, I figured the name could be used to start growing our Joyful Roots Yoga community in the meantime! This community is still a page for ALL people to feel welcomed and included, especially the black sheep. Although the name won’t be centered around that anymore, it is very much so at the heart of my passion. I want this account to reflect my love of yoga, nature, and combining the two to help people return back to their true nature: their own Joyful Roots. 🥹 I’d love to hear your thoughts on this re-brand in the comments! All my love, Bri 💜 by @joyfulrootsyoga
2.5 years of Yoga, joy, improvement, laughter, and connections…all summed up into photos. ✨🫶🏼 There are no words adequate enough to describe my gratitude and love for this community, but just know, you have changed my life for the better! Thank you for accepting me, encouraging me, smiling (or crying) with me, and continuing to cheer me on as I tackle new endeavors. STL will always have a special place in my heart! 🥹🧘🏼‍♀️🕉️🤸🏼‍♀️❤️‍🔥🌱 by @joyfulrootsyoga
It’s a pretty emotional thing for me to think about, so be sure to take care of your mental state if you decide to meditate on this! Wishing you all a fun, relaxing, and safe weekend! 🫶🏼 #yoga #yogateacher #meditation #envision #yogapractice #selflove #releasefear #joyfulrootsyoga #findyourjoy #findyourroots by @joyfulrootsyoga
I’ve been loving this lil sequence lately, not just because it helps warm up the entire body, but also because it reallyyy helps connect your movement to your breath! Check it out ⬇️ - Exhale, down dog - Inhale, plank (option to bring your knees down) - Exhale, knees down to tabletop - Inhale, belly drops to cow - Exhale, roll it back to down dog I think it’s so important to start encouraging this body/breath connection at the very beginning of class, so that students can move through the entire flow with that connection already reinforced. I honestly take the first 10-15 minutes of class trying to build this up. ✨ Bonus points if you practice outside & connect to Mother Nature as well! 😉 #yoga #yogapractice #yogateacher #yogaforeverybody #yogaflow #outdooryoga #757yoga #joyfulrootsyoga by @joyfulrootsyoga

Crushed 108 Sun Sals this morning with the best crew!! 💜 The word “strong” kept popping into my mind throughout class. I hadn’t done a 108 class in years, and the first time I did it, it was awful. I struggled the entire time, physically and mentally. So I went into today’s class thinking it was gonna suck, but that I’d get through it with all my friends + hopefully have a good time regardless! 😅 Turns out, I’m stronger than I give myself credit for. Class honestly felt like a breeze. I was pleasantly surprised with myself! Whether class felt good today or you hated every second, I’m truly so proud of all of us for showing up and finishing, TOGETHER. We ALL accomplished something tough, and proved that we are capable of doing difficult things! 🥹 So here’s a reminder as you look to the year ahead: you are stronger than you think. Truly and irrevocably. Your power comes from within, from Source. Nothing and nobody can take that from you. What a way to start the day/year! 🥹🫶🏼 #yoga #yogateacher #wintersolsticeparty #wintersolstice #yogapractice #108sunsalutations by @joyfulrootsyoga

Yodi’s like “hey mom did you know…” 🤣 If it’s not my own brain trying to distract me, it’s the dogs. They serve as a very cute reminder to reconnect and try again whenever my thoughts stray away. They are the ultimate yogis! 🥹 Wishing you all a great week ahead! 💜 #yoga #mindfulness #meditation #calmyourmind #breathe #dogs #dogsofinstagram #yogateacher #joyfulrootsyoga #sohum by @joyfulrootsyoga
