The Punch Isn’t The Move….. (or is it?)

This isn’t going to work on everyone but more and more I see guys trying to fight the crackdown by grabbing on and holding. Use this simple trick to put a guy in danger

Notice how I move my legs to the outside of his crackdown as well

Even if you don’t get points… you’ll get your takedown

Who are you hitting this on? by @jpunzwrestling

GIVE THIS ONE A TRY

Hopping to the outside in a crackdown position feels a little counterintuitive but it ends up being a very safe position if you can maintain his leg nice and straight

Give this one a try, between the pivot from the hip switch and grabbing your own leg this should be easy

SAVE THIS ONE FOR LATER

I like this drill in the sit position because a lot of wrestlers give up their wrists and go to their stomach (myself included)

This is a great way to practice sealing off. You can progress this by adding in an escape after or allowing the opp to have a option to suck back

Add this in for a great warm up game! by @jpunzwrestling

I’ve heard this called a sit in, it’s a combo of a sit in and change over.

The key is sealing off that first side and keeping a lean so you don’t get sucked back. If you do it right you knock his weigh back off of you

Then you go straight away the opposite direction. Get your freedom

‼️ Detailed Analysis in Video ‼️

As a wrestling and S&C coach, I am really partial towards the Olympic lifts, specifically this squat clean. Fair warning, it is a relatively complex movement to do correctly so id advise progressing through the progressions and having a coach analyze your lifts.

Give it a try with some light weight and check out @hamptonmorris for some inspiration. @catalystathletics is a great resource for learning by @jpunzwrestling
