I went to Africa not knowing what to expect, but hoping to see elephants. I came home completely obsessed and in love with them. 🐘❤️🐘❤️

There is something extraordinary about these magnificent creatures. Their adorable excitement as they ran towards their watering hole, their silliness as they threw mud around, their family bonds, their quiet strength seen in some of the loners, their intelligence, (did you know elephants mourn when one of their own dies? ) and simply their gigantic presence - African Elephants are earths largest mammal after all !

But it was in Zimbabwe, where we slept in a tent beside a watering hole, listening to elephants haunting rumbles, joyful trumpeting and playful splashing through the African night!! That’s when I decided these guys were my favourite.

I feel so blessed and forever grateful to have experienced them.

Fair warning… more Africa is to come. Instagram has increasingly become my own little visual memory board, and less about who’s watching. Some moments are simply too precious not to keep revisiting. 🐘❤️🐘

I’m convinced that there’s nothing better than time with your besties. 👯‍♀️🥂💕🌅

This quiet life. The pause between all the doing. The place where I recharge, reconnect and somehow find my way back to myself. Hard to say goodbye to it.

August, you reminded me of what matters most.

Sharing my happy place with friends and family I adore. Celebrating a milestone birthday surrounded by so much love, laughter and the people who mean the most. Remembering someone very special we lost this month, and carrying with me his simple motto for a long life: “exercise and socialize.”

Long summer days, lots of laughter and time to simply be.

Finding peace in what’s right in front of me.

Seeing a little more clearly.
Loving a little more dearly.

Day by day. ❤️

Hello September !!! 🌭🏕️🍄🛶🫂👯‍♀️🪷✈️🐘

July, you were good for my soul. 🌿✨

So much time with dirt under my nails, tending to gardens indoors and out, afternoons at the dock, and a steady rotation of family and friends at the cottage.

We wandered farmers’ markets, soaked up incredible live music from The Last Waltz tribute to Tobin Spring’s heartfelt Neil Young tribute, grooved through the Beaches Jazz Festival, and sat in awe of the legendary Herbie Hancock with dear jazz loving friends at Massey Hall.

There were a few smoky sky days that reminded us of how fortunate we are, while so many others were affected.

Summer has a way of slowing me down, making stillness easier to find, and reminding me what really matters.

A month of gratitude, good company, and making the most of a Canadian summer.

Hello, August! 🍻🐝🫜🥗👙🎂🌅

June, you gave us permission to slow down.

The black flies and mosquitoes have been so brutal this year, so we found ourselves spending more time in Toronto than expected, and honestly, I loved it.

Bike rides through The Portlands, rooftop evenings, a few shows and nights out with friends, a little FIFA buzz, some Duck excitement and lots of reminders that joy doesn’t always require going far.

Sometimes the best months aren’t the ones you planned. They’re the ones that remind you to notice what’s already around you.

Feeling grateful for a slower pace, and this beautiful city I get to call home. ❤️

Hello, July !! 🌞🍺🚴🛶🌅🌼🦋🪷🪻

We had the privilege of watching Daisy choose our seventh floor rooftop to nest, lay her eggs, and a month later become a mother. Good job Daisy…..see you next year ♥️♥️♥️

Big thanks to @torontowildlifecentre for capturing Daisy and keeping the family together.

It was one of the most extraordinary things I’ve ever witnessed. 🦆🐥💞

Summer starts here. ✨💫

The threshold to long, lazy days, beach strolls, impromptu gatherings, sunset boat rides, and unhurried time at the cottage.

Happy Summer Solstice. ☀️

May, you sure were full.

Birthday celebrations for both of my sons, singing backup with Choir! Choir! Choir! and Sarah McLachlan, spring flowers finally in bloom, a fresh chop of my hair, and a mama duck choosing our 6th floor patio for her nest of 11 eggs!!

There was a little nostalgia too as I dusted off my inner 80s punk rocker for a special birthday celebration and 80s party. At home, a fresh slipcover gave old furniture new life, while at the beach, nature reminded us who’s really in charge as the shoreline disappeared under all the rain during a crazy storm.

Hello, June!! 🌷🦆🎂🎶🌊

My oldest son turned 30. I can hardly believe it. It feels like just yesterday he was the cutest little guy with the deepest dimples and the bluest eyes.

From the very beginning, he’s always seen the world a little differently. Mitch has always been artistic, deeply sensitive, thoughtful, empathetic, and someone who truly cares — not just about the people close to him, but about his community, the world, and the bigger picture too.

He’s someone who knows how to bring people together, whether it’s for a movie night, a house party, a Magic gathering, or one of his amazing dinner parties. And now he’s stepping more seriously into tattooing and bartending alongside his freelance illustration work. It feels like such a natural fit for a creative person who genuinely loves creating meaningful experiences for others.

Watching him grow into an independent, intelligent, hardworking, and compassionate man has been one of the greatest joys of my life — especially through some pretty tough challenges along the way. I feel lucky that through it all, we’ve stayed close, even after he moved out.

So to my son: thank you for making me a mom. I love you more than words can say. I admire the man you’ve become, and I couldn’t be prouder of you. I can’t wait to see what this next chapter brings.

Here’s to 30 years of being uniquely and beautifully you and cheers to many more filled with creativity, love, laughter, good health, fun gatherings, great conversations, and a life well lived. 🥂🎂✨💖

We said goodbye to GiGi today. 😢

I didn’t expect to feel so emotional, but nostalgia hit me as I started thinking about all the trips we shared. There weren’t many, but they were all monumental and she carried us all across the country from British Columbia to Newfoundland.

From that very first unforgettable adventure driving out west to Haida Gwaii with my bestie to exploring the Maritimes with Yoshi and my husband, she was such a great time. She was more than a van, she was our home on wheels, our adventure escaper and the keeper of so many incredible memories. The long drives, the laughter, the playlists and podcasts, the thrill of finding the perfect boondocking spot, those quiet mornings with coffee in hand. These are the kind of moments that stay with you.

Grateful for every kilometre and every memory. Thanks for the ride GiGi and thanks for showing me our beautiful country. Go Good. 🚐🤍😉🇨🇦

Thank you for all the birthday love. I really did feel it. ❤️

My 60th celebration looked like this: a little adventuring, a lot of beach time, some of the best food I’ve ever had in the Caribbean, and diving that I genuinely didn’t want to come up from.

Grenada, @scubawestindiesgrenada and @calabashhotel you were something special. Thank you. 🙏🏻

Still basking in it all. ✨
