So excited for this all star team to keep growing! #HiddenHeroes @disneydescendants by @judeweng

Finally, the rabbit’s out of the hat! I’m so excited to have been part of OSWALD THE LUCKY RABBIT, working for the incredibly talented Jon Favreau and Andy Jones who worked for a decade to bring Disney’s first animated character back to the screen. This was such a special project, with a tremendous cast and crew, and something I’ve been keeping secret for a LONG LONG time. I’ll have much more to share once it airs...but for now, I’m just so happy the secret is finally out! 🐰

It takes a village to make a movie. As thrilled as I am to finally share Hidden Heroes with the world, I’m even more excited to celebrate the incredible people who are bringing it to life.

To my creative team, @angelinakekich @christopherbaffa @tylerbishopharron @lou.sky @jeffreymortensen, @rhysstunts, Dale Bredeson, and every member of this amazing crew...I’m grateful for your artistry, collaboration, and commitment to making this film the best it can be.

To the amazing @joecomposer, I’m grateful to be reunited and can’t wait for your beautiful score to bring our movie to life.

And finally, thank you to Tim McNeal Janine Jones and Emerlynn Lampitoc for welcoming me into the Disney/ABC Directing Fellowship all those years ago. You opened a door that changed the course of my life, and I’ll always be grateful.

Movies may have one director, but every film is the result of hundreds of artists, craftspeople, and storytellers working together to create the vision.

Here’s to all the Hidden Heroes behind ours! by @judeweng

Since the announcement of Hidden Heroes: A Descendants Story, I’ve been flooded with messages from Descendants fans all over the world. So many of you have written asking questions, even pitching ideas for songs, costumes, props, and characters. While I am not able to review fan ideas, I’m super touched by your passion. Your love for this world is exactly why we’re working so hard to make something special. What I can share with you is why this movie means so much to me!

In 2012, I was fortunate enough to become a Disney/ABC Directing Fellow. At the time, I was leaving behind a career directing and showrunning competition television to chase a new dream: becoming a film and television director. During those early years as a Directing Fellow, I spent countless days walking the halls of the Disney Studios in Burbank, attending meetings, workshops, and building relationships. A security guard named Jerry noticed I was always coming and going and asked me what I was working toward. I told him my dream was to become a Disney director one day.

He looked me right in the eye and said:
You’re going to make it. I can tell.

From then on, every time our paths crossed, Jerry would ask how things were going, and cheer me on. Over the years, another wonderful security guard, Tish, became one of those familiar faces too, always greeting me with a warm smile and words of encouragement.

When I booked my first episode as a director for ABC, I couldn’t wait to tell Jerry and Tish.
And when I found out I’d be directing Hidden Heroes, I couldn’t wait to share that news with them too.

Because behind every dream are people whose names may never appear in the credits, but whose kindness and encouragement help make those dreams possible, Hidden Heroes like Jerry and Tish.

This one’s for you. Thank you for the years of warmth, and kindness - it will stay with me for a lifetime.

I can’t wait to share Hidden Heroes: A Descendants Story with all of you!

#HiddenHeroes #Descendants @disneyfamily by @judeweng

It’s beyond exciting to finally share this secret with you all, I’m so proud to be directing this movie about Hidden Heroes: A Descendants Story, a celebration of the sidekicks working from the shadows of Disney’s most beloved fairytales.

I ❤️ LA by @judeweng

When I spoke with filmmaking students at Yale and UPenn back in November, I promised to host a Filmmaker’s Office Hours for them - so here it is y’all! But I’m also going to open up limited spots for non-university attendees as well.
Just comment here “I want to join your Zoom!” And then I’ll send it to you via DM.
(For some reason IG hides some DMs so I’m not seeing all the requests, sorry!)

As always, I’ll invite a couple surprise guests to add to the fun and the conversation.
See you soon! by @judeweng

Here’s the trailer for S2 The Last Thing He Told Me. It was wonderful to work with the incomparable Jennifer Garner again, along with a stellar cast of Angourie Rice, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, David Morse, John Noble, and more. Season 2 launches 2/20/2026, and can’t wait for you to see my episode when it drops! by @judeweng

Meet Jesse Quinones (Waterloo Road, Inside Number 9, Cagefighter, Calloused Hands, Cooper & Fry) and Jude Weng (The Summer I Turned Pretty, Matlock, Only Murders in the Building, Twisted Metal, Ghosts, Frasier, Finding ‘Ohana) - the directing powerhouses who we at WBD Access have been lucky enough to have back onboard as the session facilitators for the WBD Access x Waterloo Road Directors programme.

We’ve just wrapped on the virtual element of the programme, which this year has been extended to 11 Directors. Jude & Jesse led some incredible sessions on essential episodic directing skills to enhance craft as a director for a show like Waterloo Road. They looked at the analysis of Waterloo Road’s cinematic language, how to be a great shadow, working in Post-Production and much more!

As the next step in the coming days, each director will have the opportunity to pitch their lookbook to a panel including Jude & Jessie.

We look forward to facilitating this unique space for the directors to step outside their comfort zones, showcase their vision, and receive meaningful feedback from an exceptional pitch panel.

Watch this space!
