Me: I want to make your painting Maa ❤️🌺
🙇🏻‍♀️🙏🏼❤️🌺🌹❤️🌺🌹
What all happens when I do that? The me is dissolved to blossom in her immense love. Few glimpses into the art and the artist transforming and blending in her. Devotion is the only way I have known to woo her. The paintings just happen in between somewhere in that slow dance.

Chausath Yogini a concept or reality sometime in history.? A story worth narrating. But it would take more than one posts and reels.
I started with a visual and metaphorical symbolic journey in my mind more than 3 years ago in march 2023.
That time in a Kashi pilgrimage without knowing I stayed in a home stay sharing wall with Maa Varahi Temple. If you know about this temple she is open just couple of hours in early morning times. I did not know about this temple’s significance and her entry into my life in this way that time. Photos from that visit and the temple entrance in Kashi are towards the end after slide 10. Someone had drawn her on wall just few steps from that red door. And one of the friends played her flute too. You cannot anyway click any photos or go in that sanctum.

As one of the saptmatrikas Maa Varahi is part of Chausath Yogini in the temples. She is celebrated during the Asahaad Navratri. More details in the series on Chausath Yogini which began more than a month ago where I could not decide which is the first yogini to paint. Now we know.

Because the energy was destroyed and only remnants were left in a few places that I came to know roughly 2 years ago. Since one year I really want to draw, paint, dance, sing as offering how I feel about this.
Continued in comments.

In search of the divine mother I found her in myself. I would never be able to understand or explain who she is. Just capturing the movements where I completely dissolve to let her do the talking through my paintings. It was never about making my art better it was always telling a story that I saw.

To more stories and learnings of the little world I observe through my eyes.

Divinefeminine Devi Maa by @juheewithlove

This song was woven into my heart.
Some experiences arrive as a film, and then quietly become something much deeper within us.🙏❣️

My heartfelt gratitude to the entire team behind the movie Hanuman Ansh… @hanumanansh
to the directors, actors, musicians, writers, artists, technicians, and every single person whose devotion and work brought this creation to life. 🙏

Your work touched something within me that words alone could not reach.

What began as an experience of watching became an inward journey of healing…
and somewhere along the way, the healing began to find its expression through movement.

This is not a performance for me.
It is devotion in flow.
A conversation between the body, breath, music and something beyond me.

I am sharing this process because I feel healing need not remain a private journey.

Perhaps when we allow ourselves to move, feel, surrender and create,
something within us begins to soften.

So I share these movements as an offering…
my journey of healing through devotion, movement and flow,
with everyone who may find a little piece of their own journey here.

With gratitude. 🪷🙏

The lyrics to this specific hymn were originally composed by Ramprasad Sen (c. 1718–1775), a renowned mystic poet and sage from Bengal.
Sage Ramprasad was a pioneer of Shakta Padavali (devotional poetry dedicated to the Divine Mother). He was famous for his intense, intimate, and often raw conversations with the Goddess, treating Her not as an unapproachable deity, but as a loving yet fierce mother.

While Ramprasad wrote the poem, Parvathy Baul received the oral transmission of this song from Kanai Das Baul (Kanai da), a revered blind Baul master. It was actually the very first song Parvathy Maa ever heard from him when she began her path, making it deeply personal to her lineage.
The songs are passed down strictly through a lineage of wandering ascetics (Guru-Shishya).
Blends Tantra with Sufism, Vaishnavism, and Sahajiya (natural) Buddhism.
Performed with an Ektara (one-stringed lute), Dubki (drum), and an ecstatic, swirling dance.

Disclaimer: I’m not a dancer, singer or a musician. I deeply feel to do certain art forms and I just do them with deep devotion. Anything that might not align with your culture or sensibility is not intended. Apologies for not following any specific lineage. This is personal art form practiced by me and I wanted to share it.

Do you really want to make pretty and beautiful art all the time?
Sometimes you just want to scribble or draw circles.
I was very touched by one of my friends poetry @__kavi_kriti
So I started exploring the aspect of time as mentioned in the poem. Time is Kala - Kala Bhairava - Maa Kaali
But I explored the inner circles of a tree which reveal if tree is cut to show its life span. While drawing these circles with water colours many thoughts came and went. The whole scribing was relaxing and therapeutic. If you don’t have a friend who writes poetry you can read her poetry on time:

मुझे लगता था में लिखती हूँ
फिर एहसास हुआ मुझसे तो
वक़्त लिखवाता था
शब्द मेरे थे विषय मेरे थे मगर वह जज़्बात
उस वक़्त के थे
जब सब मिट गया और वही फिर से
लिखना चहा, तो वैसा कुछ लिख ही नहीं पायी|
तब समझ आया कभी कभी हम नहीं लिखते|
बस वक़्त हमे अपना कुछ लिखवा जाता है|
@__kavi_kriti

Or simply enjoy making circles it’s Fun!
The words of poetry also written in this circles look closely.

Sharing a genuine yet very contradictory thought on how I progress towards any kind of final painting. Through I have never followed any such thing (here did you see the contradiction). Anyway, so I approach art making as a calling from within and start with pencil or paint directly. The result is a painting with only colours or mixed media. But here I’m with various half done or experimental sketches of symbolism I’m very drawn to. Like lately I strongly feel to draw sketch paint the forms of divine feminine in respect to their qualities depicted with iconography through historical references, books, articles, research papers. So these are a very few #frommysketchbook to your feed. Though I have a lot to say about each one. But I might just take it step by step and have more clarity.
And somehow my very earlier drawings like the second last slide is very similar in posture to the friezes.
And, if you feel something in your heart after looking at them do comment and have a dialogue.
Much love
Juhee by @juheewithlove

All this while I perceived freedom as an outer magnified lens of perceiving with tangible
Then it shifted its course to the surface level moments of awareness where I could feel that tingling in nerves
It was the inner opening up it never matched the idea of freedom that I had known all my life
It consumed me and I was not able to move from few seconds to get a grip on myself
//
It felt image at first
Very tangible ethereal to fluid and vast almost no span
//
Voids - untangling - brush with the infinite
The freedom found but now I could not describe it
That felt good
So that the pressure to give words to experiences was taken away
Slowly it was sinking that this kind of freedom stayed back with you
Almost forever
It did not ask any kind of uncomfortable questions
There is no reference point
It’s totally free of its own self
Now this might sound freaky
But
I feel free
