Come experience a dramatic and wonderful evening of music with the Yale Philharmonia under the baton of Peter Oundjian! The program, which will reprise at Carnegie Hall the following Monday, begins with a new arrangement of Joan Tower’s 1991 Concerto for Orchestra, leading into Britten’s Violin Concerto, featuring world-renowned faculty violinist Augustin Hadelich, and finishing with Berlioz’s magnificent Symphonie fantastique. 😬🥹😭🙏🏼💥💥🤩😤😤 Emoji-journey of what happens in a 6-second passage of Wieniawski.. This passage is right at the beginning and it’s one of those runs where if it goes well (🙏🏼🙏🏼), you’re in a happy place for the rest of the piece. If it DOESN’T go well……… … Mind control time! 🙊 #wieniawski by @juliahwangviolin
It Ain’t 😤 Necessarily 😾 So 😻 Warming up before a performance - and deciding which encores to play! Does anyone recognise this ✨jazzy ✨ composer? I‘m in the States right now, and feeling very at home with his music.. 😌 by @juliahwangviolin
Hello Instagram!! It’s been a while 😉 Here’s one of the most beautiful second movements in the violin repertory. Hope you like it as much as I enjoyed playing it 🩷 by @juliahwangviolin
Reflecting on what was a wonderful week of music making in the UK with @juliahwangviolin and James Drinkwater 🇬🇧🎶 Amongst the repertoire, I was glad to have had the chance to play Bartok’s Contrasts a few more times - a work that I’ve been trying to avoid playing again for so long. It is tremendously rewarding once all of those frightful cadenzas are over! Looking forward to coming back again soon for more laughs and inspired music-making. . . . #violin #clarinet #piano #bartok #contrasts #bennygoodman #khachaturian #brahms #poulenc #beach #saintsaens #classicalmusic #uk #bristol #london #cambridge #australia #violinist #clarinetist #pianist #wearebuffet #banksy #stjohnscollegecambridge by @juliahwangviolin
So happy to be returning to Cambridge (and Instagram!) for an evening of chamber music with special friends this Sunday at @stjohnscam ! I'll be playing a programme of Poulenc, Beach, Bartok and more with @lloydvanthoffclarinet 😊🎻🎹 + This is a short snippet from the Poulenc violin sonata, filled with the craziest tempo, metre and character changes! 🍁 by @juliahwangviolin
It’s wonderful to be back in the UK! 🇬🇧 Spending the week playing trios with the ever so charming @juliahwangviolin and pianist James Drinkwater. It was a dream to give my debut at the @wigmore_hall, performing works by my favourite composers. Thank you to everyone who came and shared the evening with me, which made it even more special. 💖 I hope everyone stays healthy and safe.. and keep washing your hands! 😷 by @juliahwangviolin
