Thrilled to be part of "Hearth" 🧡 with other diverse artists sculptors & performers. A wonderfully warming exhibition curated by @sylvia_smm for @ccandratx touching on themes of belonging. If you are around Mallorca on the 14th of March don't miss the opportunity to attend to a beautiful opening. In case you can't attend it will be on until the 26th of june by @juliavibosch

Such a pleasure drawing these for Quinta Velha, sitting in the food forest by the natural pool and suddenly a little friend hedgehog pops up and walks to the stream where we are sitting to grab a drink of fresh water, so I had to include him in the composition

Most of the animals in this composition are extinct, some of the many 500 species that are no longer. I believe we are aware of the biodiversity and eco-system consequences that this brings, aside from the laden loss.

Becoming displaced is becoming a growing fear, not only amongst humans but for all species on this earth. The biggest difference to me, is the massive interference we suppose for animal and plant kingdoms whilst they only sustain us without destroying or interfering with human life.

I wanted to create this piece to shed light on the subject but not with the purpose of putting more weight on our shoulders, but to help us find the bravery to make the right choices and stop supporting the wrong corporations.
I think not only animals suffer from "Zoochosis" but humans too, with time we've become captive of our environments, governments, ideals, norms, religions, violence, economic and educational systems, and mostly captives of our minds.

Sometimes knowing we must fight for someone else ignites a fire inside of us that wouldn't ignite otherwise. So I hope this fire ignites for the wonderous plant and animal kingdom that gives us love unconditionally.

The reality is in a capitalist system, how you spend your money is your vote, what you eat, what you wear, all become a political statement and staples for the future you support. I hope for truth and transparency, for courage before fear and love above all hatred and separation. We musn't be afraid to speak out.

Much love, Júlia
