Story time! After 2.5 months, I finally went back bouldering. Started with baby steps traversing, and doing more techniques than going for the higher grade. TBH, I was still very terrified to descend/fall. What if it happens again?! But it has to be done. Side note: bring a tripod next time, not your kid 🤣 JK (this may be my one and only VO for the year @jumpingbff) by @jump_bubblesquat_jump
Recap: 2024 was the year I finally figured out jump roping isn't just for recess. Turns out, it's harder than it looks! I mean, who knew you could trip over a rope so many times? I’ve had whips and lashes, hit my face with the rope, but I kept going! by @jump_bubblesquat_jump
Road to Mic Release: I set out a goal to accomplish the Mic Release before the end of 2024. Well, it didn’t happen, but I did do it in January 2025. Despite having learned the skill, it’s not always perfect. I can only do one side, and apparently there are different ways to do it?!?! The wrist pop was my jam. Many thanks to @kathyjumps and @nate_kg for the mic release tutorial! I am still trying to refine this skill by @jump_bubblesquat_jump
Finding ways to keep myself entertained while I’m benched from jumping.  Day 2 of my no-jumping break! Today, I decided to try the blindfold challenge with mic releases. I’ve never done this before, so I wanted to see how many I could actually land without being able to see the rope. 😆 I managed to catch the handle several times, so I’ll take that as a good sign! Sorry @marnicolaou I can’t join the Combo Wednesday party because my ankle needs to heal 😭 One thing that helps is remembering that when you execute the skill correctly, you don’t have to chase the rope. Easier said than done, but it’s something to keep in mind! If you’re bored, try it out! #jumprope #jumpropecommunity #jumpropeskills #jumpropepractice #jumpropejourney by @jump_bubblesquat_jump
Day 1 of finding things to practice while I’m on my no-jumping break! 😂 Starting with one of the easier skills I somehow never got around to trying before: the Toe Catch to Standing Leg Wrap. Don’t ask me how I haven’t tried this yet because I have no idea. 🤣 But here it is! Thanks @nate_kg for the tutorial! And for those following along who haven’t learned this one yet, I’m pretty slow in this video, so I’m sure you can catch on too. 😂 #jumprope #jumpropecommunity #jumpropeskills #jumpropepractice #jumpropejourney by @jump_bubblesquat_jump
It’s not a severe injury, but my podiatrist advised me to wear a boot for a couple of weeks to give the ligament tissue time to heal. 😩 No fun stuff for me for the next couple of weeks, and hopefully not any longer than that! In the meantime, I’ll continue practicing my Mamba Squeeze, other releases, and rope flow. Gotta make the most of this downtime somehow! And no climbing for me either, so I’ll have to take another break from that, too. 😭 by @jump_bubblesquat_jump
Happy Halloween, y’all! 🎃👻 It’s Thriller season! And really, what’s Halloween without a little MJ? I even dug out my kid’s old ghost costume from his preschool days to get into the spirit. Get it? 😆 it’s hard to see in this thing! As for the jumping, I’m keeping it to a minimum until I see my podiatrist in a couple of days. The good news is my X-ray came back normal, so we’ll see what the doctor says! Hope you all have a fun and spooky weekend. And try not to eat ALL the candy… or do. Who am I to judge? What y’all think?! Am I even close, or do I need a LOT more practice?! (more practice!) Day 2 of learning the Mamba Squeeze! 🐍Still putting in work and trying to get this move down! I also went in to get X-rays on my right ankle to see what’s going on. This isn’t even the ankle I hurt a few months ago, so I’m not sure what’s up! Guess we’ll see what the good doctor says next week! 🙏 Drop your thoughts in the comments! Am I getting there?! My arm was burning after today’s session! #MambaSqueeze #jumprope #jumpropetricks #jumpropeworkout #jumpropetraining by @jump_bubblesquat_jump
No jumping means finding other things to learn. 😆 Part 1 of learning the Mamba Squeeze! I’ve been so tempted to jump, but gotta practice some discipline and let my ankle recover. We gotta take care of our bodies, right? 😅 Since I’m sitting out the jumps, I figured this was a good time to learn the Mamba Squeeze. Not gonna lie, this one is a little scary because I really don’t want the rope handle slapping me in the face… which has already happened a couple of times. 😂 I’ve watched some tutorials, and I’ll keep working on it so I can eventually add it to my routine. Still a long way to go, but I did learn the Mamba when I sprained my ankle climbing, so this is just the next step. We’ll get there! #jumprope #jumpropecommunity #mambasqueeze #jumpropeskills #jumpropepractice by @jump_bubblesquat_jump
No jumping yet, so rope flow it is!  Happy Saturday Song Day! Still trying to figure out what’s going on with my ankle, so I’m taking a break from jumping for now. I’m still a newbie at rope flow and honestly don’t know much of what I’m doing, but I’m working on the Matador and Race and Chase (if that’s even what it looks like 😆). At least there are some directional changes in there Thanks to @notonlyjumps for this week’s skill and song! Hoping my ankle cooperates and I’ll be back to my regularly scheduled programming in the next few days. 🤞🏼 SATURDAY SONG SQUAD Aaron @aaronjumps.365 🇬🇧 Ana @lucyt_1967 🇺🇸 Andrea @andrea.skips84 🇬🇧 Brandy @bleewonders 🇺🇸 Cheng @chengko.tw 🇹🇼 Claire @bourne_happy 🇬🇧 Claire @claires_jumpywing_journey_51y 🇪🇸 Cora @notonlyjumps 🇷🇴 C.Rae @jump_bubblesquat_jump 🇺🇸 Eugenie @eugeniebernardis 🇿🇦 Guliana @guilian.jumps 🇵🇪 Janeya @lets_jumprope 🇮🇹 Jo @jump_rope_jo 🇬🇧 Katharina @katha.jumps 🇩🇪 Laura Lou @lauralou0082 🇬🇧 Lindsey @landerson0488 🇺🇸 Lisa @lisaskipstheworkout 🇨🇦 Mandy @skippinginmy60s 🇬🇧 Melinda @mel.jumps.in 🇺🇸 Nicole @niba_aus_na_jumps 🇩🇪 Olga @olgahoek 🇩🇪 Patty @pattyjumps 🇺🇸 Priya @priya.fitness.goals 🇮🇳 Rachel @harpo_jumps 🇺🇸 Sarah @leaps_and_bounds62 🇺🇸 Tobie @tobie.jumps 🇨🇦 Tsai @1963_dad_tsai 🇹🇼 #jumprope #jumpropecommunity #saturdaysongandskill #jumpropeskills #jumpropepractice by @jump_bubblesquat_jump
No jumping for now, so back to the old clips!  Throwing it back to when I was practicing my turns to make them look less janky. 😆 Still need to work on combining the turns with footwork shuffles, but that’ll have to wait. Until then, I’ll be rope flowing over here until further notice! #jumprope #jumpropecommunity #ropeflow #jumpropepractice #jumpropejourney by @jump_bubblesquat_jump
Recruiting the next generation of jumpers… one swing open at a time.  My boy wanted to learn a jump rope skill, so we started with swing opens! He can jump and run with the rope, but I’m not sure he’ll want to try this again. 🤣 As for me, I may have tweaked my ankle, so it’s no jumping for now. 😭 Nothing broken or sprained, but I’m taking it easy until it feels better. Guess I’ll be sitting this one out for a bit! Ooor…going back to rope flow (the helmet will be coming out again)! #jumprope #jumpropecommunity #jumpropefamily #jumpropeskills #jumpropejourney by @jump_bubblesquat_jump
