Junery | A Marketing Agency That Makes Sense
POSTS STORIES REELS
Most agencies look in from the outside.
We work from the inside out. Positioning. Strategy. Storytelling. Campaigns.
We think all of it can be done better. ( junery ) by @juneryhq
RATING ADS I’VE BEEN SERVED THIS WEEK Ecezema trials: Simple, clear and easy to understand quickly. Photo is interesting enough to hook people in to read. Movember: Nice font styles and design. Growmitment is pretty clever so green tick there. AGL Energy: The colour contrast is awesome but after reading $69 a month I get a bit bored with the copy. Too much to read and pretty basic. AHM: I know they’ve been running this style of camaign for years but it just does not look right at all. Laneway: They’ve done a good job of personifying their audience here. Smiley, happy faces mean it must be fun right?! Don’t love how they’ve got all the locations and times, we’ve got geo-targeting for a reason. KFC: Is this an ad for KFC, Doordash or Prime???? I get you can do collabs but what’s going on here. I love Spiderman though so they’ve semi got me there… My Muscle Chef: They’re running lots of these iphone camera + instagram text ads at the moment and I’m a fan. Makes it look less of an ad and more genuine. Offer is solid too. Westpac: Pretty good image to copy balance and all makes sense quickly. But that disclaimer is gross and makes me think what are they hiding?? Waverly Mills: Who’s got a wishlist of just scarves? Am I missing something here? Westpac (again): Great copy and offer, but why the rollerdoor? by @juneryhq
“Down Down” just went down in court. The trick behind it is old. Show someone a price drop and their brain doesn’t judge the number. It judges the gap. The bigger the gap between old price and new, the bigger the deal feels. That only works if the old price is real. Coles raised prices on hundreds of products, then dropped them back down and called it a discount. The gap was fake. The psychology still worked on shoppers. A federal judge ruled it worked a little too well. Anchoring isn’t the problem. A fake anchor is. Next time you set a “was” price, ask if it would survive a courtroom. (junery) by @juneryhq
Have you ever tried splitting the G??? I’ve tried (and failed) a fair few times which made me think how has Guinness made such a comeback? What I’ve uncovered is more than a century of creative advertising and perspective control, which has come slightly undone… in an awesome way. Consumer led trends are very influential for brands and businesses. Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe shit (insert football coach meme). (junery) by @juneryhq
Most brands spend the year arguing about logos, fonts and shades of blue. Meanwhile the strongest brand asset in retail is air. Peter Alexander pumps vanilla and caramel through its stores so you’re relaxed before you touch a rack. RM Williams commissioned an outback scent for theirs, and customers asked to buy it so often they bottled it. Aesop’s washes off your hands somewhere around dinner. The reason it works: smell is the only sense wired straight to memory. Everything else gets filtered first. A logo has to be recognised. A smell just has to be breathed. Try it this month: walk into your own store, office or unboxing experience and ask what it smells like. If the answer is nothing, that’s the gap. One consistent scent, everywhere a customer breathes, costs less than a rebrand and outlasts one. Your customers will forget the campaign. They won’t forget the smell. (junery) by @juneryhq
1 in 3 people don’t start their search on Google anymore. They type it straight into TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. “Best gyms near me.” “How to fix my sleep.” Somebody shows up as the answer. Right now, that might not be you. Are you treating your socials as an SEO channel? ( junery ) by @juneryhq
I don’t know how @didiaunz convinced Kevin Sheedy to do this. Regardless, they’ve absolutely nailed this campaign. ( junery ) by @juneryhq
LeBron hasn’t picked a team yet. That didn’t stop everyone from acting like they had a shot. Including @repcoaustralia None of it was real, but all of it got noticed. A moment like this closes in hours, not days. The brands who caught it didn’t build a campaign. They just showed up while everyone was already watching. Most times, this isn’t worth doing. This week, it was. ( junery ) by @juneryhq
Trends aren’t the enemy. Using them without thinking is. If your content is getting views but not customers, this is for you. ( junery ) by @juneryhq
