I thought it would be interesting to share an image related to process every weekend, it might be useful to someone. This is my journal, for work and personal purposes. It’s full of all sorts of stuff from quotes to schedules, etc. I love the Paper Republic journals but they’re too expensive and the sizes aren’t suitable.
So I made one myself. I bought an A4 size of Badalassi Carlo Minerva Smooth Leather (1.8-2mm) at Leather4Craft in the UK, cut it adaptable to A6, 245 x 160mm, and inserted the elastic bands which they also sell. I use an Hobonichi A6 graph book, it’s super thin but good with fountain pen. Mine is a black Platinum Preppy nib 02 with carbon ink, held with a Leuchtturm1917 pen holder.
I find having a notebook absolutely crucial on a daily basis. I hope these measures and info are of use to someone else. by @junodoran

First day of almost freedom.
Lately I’ve been focusing on colour photography because there’s something about it that feels more present, more real. But at the same time it’s so intense. Colour is sugary intense. I can look at a load of black and white photos and feel lightheaded and carried away. But colour stamps its presence; it doesn’t just offer contrast but also the flesh of things. I think it needs more space for itself. I’m trying to understand it. by @junodoran

“A great part of everyday is not lived consciously. One walks, eats, sees things, deals with what has to be done; the broken vacuum cleaner; ordering dinner; writing orders to Mabel; washing; cooking dinner […]. When it is a bad day the proportion of non-being is much larger.”

One day we stopped here, for some reason, on the way home. My son pointed out this wall and how it looked. For a rare moment I felt a visual connection with him, and I decided to come back another day and take a picture, after locating it in google maps. I’m not sure how this fits with anything other than us seeing together. by @junodoran

A local ranger told me this clearing in the woods is called a scallop. In woodland conservation it’s a small area cleared on the edge of the forest to allow for light to get in, yet protected from the harsh winds, to encourage a butterfly habitat. by @junodoran

a woman alone in a field with a camera.
the violence of fast passing cars is deepened by two or three catcalling horns.
she shakes in fear but it ultimately turns to anger, as she dreams of slapping the catcallers with the back of a spade.
it would be her decisive moment. by @junodoran

Westbury. I watched this develop throughout many drives to the Cotswolds and back when visiting family. Last week I finally stopped. By now I could hardly see it. I have a fascination with the workings of time and the possible stories it hides. by @junodoran
