Nuthin’ But Sunshine🌞, V13/8B Had to dig deep on this one! Many sessions + lessons learned up in the alpine, and definitely the most difficult boulder I’ve ever stood on top of! I’ve been busy in the studio getting ready for an upcoming release of new work. So it felt extra special to to sneak out into the mountains. This Colorado classic has been on my bucket list. It’s still a bit warm/humid here in CO…but there is some cooler weather on the horizon! I’m back at it grooving in the studio this morning! It always feels great to bring these wilderness experiences into the studio process. Climbing certainly has taken me to some beautiful places in my life. Keep an eye out for work release info coming soon, and I hope you’re able to get outside this weekend.🏔️ #bouldering #colorinspiration #climbinginspiration by @just.donofrio
I’m excited to share that I have an article in the newest issue of Ceramics Monthly. Most of my ideas still come from being outside in the mountains, staring at rocks way too intensely and calling it “research.” I’m currently in the Swiss Alps after teaching in Italy, on just exactly that kind of inspiration + climbing trip. The article talks about the connection between place and making, how I borrow color from ridgelines, and how clay basically lets me bring the outdoors into the studio. I included a couple pages here, but If you’d like to read the whole article, you can get 20% off an annual All-Access subscription using my promo code DONOFRIO1125 which will be active October 22–November 5, 2025. A subscription gives you immediate online access to the new issue, the full Ceramics Monthly archive, and the print issues that arrive in the mail through the year. You can subscribe at https://ceramicartsnetwork.org/cm-subscribe by choosing annual All-Access subscription then entering my promo code at checkout. If you use it, it also helps support my studio practice, and I really appreciate that support. A huge thanks to @susanmchenryceramics for the lovely article and everyone over at @ceramics_monthly @ceramicartsnetwork for all the hard work! Boulder: Molonk 7C/V9, Brione Ticino Switzerland🇨🇭 Also, cheers @billwilkeyclay for the image of the cover as I’m away from the studio and out of the country.🙌 by @just.donofrio
Hello Alpine Season🏔️ The mountains are definitely calling, and I’m excited for more of this in my future! I’ve been so busy in the studio, out on the road with @artstream_nomadicgallery , and recovering from a few climbing injuries I haven’t been able to get outside climbing much at all. Hopefully I can start moving in the mountains more regularly! I’m currently preparing a fresh batch of work for my ‘Spring Collection’ so keep an eye out for more info coming soon! 🌱No More Greener Grasses, V12/8A+, Mt Blue Sky, CO. #bouldering #coloradolife #climbinginspiration #organicclimbing #boulderinglife by @just.donofrio
🍁‘Fall Collection’ on the Horizon🌅 Lots going on in the studio! Getting this fresh batch of work nice and toasty, so I can get them all glaze up!🙌 Aiming for mid-November drop💧 I hope you have a great week! by @just.donofrio
Top Notch, V13/8B🍂🚀 The fall season up in Rocky Mountain National Park is pretty magical. The colors light up, the climbing conditions get better and the crowds get smaller. I was able to sneak out of the studio before the snow steals this climb for winter hibernation, and take advantage of a special autumn afternoon up in the alpine. This balance between time in the studio and time outside is what really motivates me and the work. A huge THANK YOU for the amazing support of my studio practice by all the awesome folks who snagged a made-to-order piece before they sold out! If you weren’t able to get one, don’t worry! I’ll still be doing a ‘Fall Collection’ release, and I’m aiming for mid-November. I’ll be announcing the date soon, so keep an eye out! Good times with @conorbarthel thanks for the hangs bud! @organicclimbing @frictionlabs 🙌 📹10/21/2026, Upper Chaos, Rocky Mountain National Park, CO. #bouldering #topnotch #rmnp #colorinspiration #climbinginspiration by @just.donofrio
🫓Fresh clay = Fresh pot 🌱 Full process Bermuda 🏝️ Ombré in the house this crisp fall morning! One last heads up about Made-to-Order collections closing today Monday, Oct 19th at 7pm MDT! Get this Bermuda Beach Ombré mug or one of the other four color combinations before they’re gone! I hope you have a great week😊 #handmadepottery #potterystudio #processvideo by @just.donofrio
📣Okay everyone, last call for the Made-to Order collections is officially announced! Get your Arctic Citrus Ombré mug or many more before everything closes tomorrow: Monday, Oct 19th 7pm MDT‼️ ❄️We received our first taste of winter here in CO last week! Not sure that I’m totally ready for the snow, (the climber in me in-fact prefers no snow:) but this mug sure loves the cold! by @just.donofrio
🍋‍🟩 Arctic Citrus + Bermuda Beach 🏝️ These are the other two Made-to-Order color combinations! I hope folks are able to take advantage of this opportunity to snag a piece, a few or even a small collection. Really just make their dreams come true, :)! People have been getting creative in making small series of their own from the “al la cart” style selection so that’s inspiring to see! Thank so much to everyone for the orders already, and I hope you have a great Sunday. Also, how many people know about the Hall and Oats hotline?! by @just.donofrio
Holiday MADE-TO-ORDER Collections are live! 🎉 This year, I’m trying something a little different for the holiday season. I’ve put together four collections of my favorite color combinations, with three different forms to choose from. I know there are pieces and color combinations people have been waiting to get, and I hope this makes it possible to find a favorite or put together a set. Each piece will be made to order, so orders are limited to what I can make and ship in time for Christmas. Once I reach that capacity, I’ll close the sale. If you’ve had your eye on a piece, or have been wanting to put together a set, this is a good opportunity to do so! Now is the time to go bananas, if you want 10 of a certain color, have at it! You want to order gifts for your mountain loving staff this year? I got you! Thank you so much to my email subscribers who got a little head-start and have already placed an order! I really appreciate your support, and I’m excited to get these pieces made for everyone. 🌅 Sunrise Sorbet + Cosmic Indigo 🪐 Shop the collections through the link in my bio! by @just.donofrio
Just a few studio and life snapshots! I hope your week is going well👍 Excited about my new very focused studio helper! Hahaha, maybe not just yet. She is definitely very helpful in the kitchen though! I’m learning patience in a whole new light!🙌 🖤🩶🩵💙Feeling the cool weather and colors today! Digging this new color combo. In the studio, thinking about these crisp fall mountain mornings!❄️ My amazing Nonna Lila turned 101 years old! Can you believe that! Absolutely an inspiration😘 🚀Fresh pots on the horizon! More info coming 🔜 by @just.donofrio
Autumn Nectar Ombré 🍁 A new colorway to bring in the changing of the season 🍃🍂 The mountains are in full display of peak colors right now. It’s really hard not to feel incredibly inspired in the studio! I’m loving this new color palette and excited to see how it comes out of the kiln. Climbing is also at its peak right now, with the cool autumn air bringing in some optimal conditions. As you can see in this video, when climbing wounds meet clay sometimes you just have to tape up and get back to work. :) #colorinspiration #processvideo #coloradolife by @just.donofrio
Throwing Slabs or is it Pizza Dough?🤔 I’m baking away here in the studio this morning, but we had a pretty good pie with @conorbarthel and @maloneycaitlin last night that inspired this video! I hope everyone had a good long weekend. #pizzaislife #processvideo #potterystudio by @just.donofrio
