Two things can be true at once.
The past two weeks have held some of the heaviest grief I’ve ever felt after losing someone I love unexpectedly, while also asking me to show up for tech and opening at South Pacific. Somehow, both heartbreak and gratitude have been sitting side by side.

I’m still sad. I’m still proud. I still question this event every single day. I still laugh, smile, and enjoy the people and moments I’m experiencing... I’m still trying to understand how life keeps moving when yours feels like it stopped for a moment.

But I’m here. And for now, I think that’s enough.🤍 by @jynellyrosario

Toddra was one of my closest people ever. Truly a ray of sunshine in human form. The kind of person that you meet just once in a lifetime.

Grief is a wild thing. I don’t think I’ve ever cried as much as I have since last week. It comes in waves, unexpectedly, and every day, when I catch myself reaching for my phone to text her or call her about some random shit, it hits me like a train that I’ll never get to talk to her again.

Last time I spoke with Toddi was less than 48 hours before I learned of her passing. We talked about her favorite things: fashion, music, theatre, sunflowers… we chatted about plans for her to come visit, and about the cardigan she wanted me to make her since I gave my first one away to someone else 2 years ago and she still hadn’t forgiven me about it… Had I known this was gonna be the last time I spoke to her, I would’ve said so much more… but that’s the thing… we always think there is a next time.

There’s so much I could share, but Toddi did once say she would haunt the shit out of me if I shared certain things, so I’ll keep it between us just in case. What I can say is: Toddi was one of the best human beings I’ve ever encountered in my life. Passionate, talented AS FUCK, funny, kind, ALIVE. She gave the best hugs a human can give, and always had some extra food around for anyone who needed it. Toddi loved her children passionately, and her craft fiercely and unapologetically. Was always dressed up like a fashion superstar, and was capable of making friends in new spaces in less than 15 minutes. A fan of good food and lover of being in front of a camera sharing the wildest things out of nowhere.

It feels so unfair to lose a human being who was finally just starting to get everything she had been busting her ass off for years, and I will never understand it.

Rest in peace and power, my dear. What a blessing it was to meet you, to do roadtrips with you, to hear you sing your ass off on a daily basis, to see your kindness towards everyone around you… to experience your magic! You are so missed, and I hope you keep visiting me in the most unusual ways. Until we meet again🌻 by @jynellyrosario

I am at a complete loss for words.
Thank you. Love you. Miss you.
My world will never be the same without you.
