Stone should not glow. And yet… La Señora Lamp — part of Ana Amelia Batlle Cabral’s @anabatlle Beings of Stone collection — explores exactly that tension. Carved travertine rises like a fragment of architecture, its porous surface holding traces of geological time. Above it, a luminous disc floats, transforming grounded mass into a vessel for light. Ana Batlle is a Dominican architect and artist working between Mexico City and New York. She treats materials as carriers of memory — stone, wood, metal as things that already carry time before she touches them. La Señora is furniture that thinks like sculpture. Limited edition. Come see it for the first time at Collectible NYC, November 6–8. We’ll be there. COLLECTIBLE New York 2026, MAIN — K’AB JUUN K’AB JUUN (@kabjuun) is a store and gallery in New York City’s Meatpacking District, curating and celebrating the rich tapestry of bespoke contemporary Mexican art and design. A living conversation between Mexico’s rich design legacy and its bold creative future, K’AB JUUN brings together iconic, limited-edition, and one-of-a-kind works spanning art, objects, and furniture, all handcrafted in Mexico. Founded by interior designer Ilana Goldberg and Dafna Puszkar, the gallery’s name, drawn from Mayan, signifies “hand” and “unique.” K’AB JUUN makes its COLLECTIBLE debut with MATERIA, an immersive exhibition exploring the transformation of stone, responsibly reclaimed wood, metal, glass, light, and fire. Conceived as an immersive interior, it brings six practices into a shared architectural setting, considering how materials carry time, place, and process into contemporary collectible design. Designers being shown: Sebastián Ángeles (@sebastian__angeles) Bandido (Alejandro Campos and Joel Rojas) (@bandidostudio) Ana Amelia Batlle Cabral (@anabatlle) Raúl de la Cerda (@rauldelacerda_) & Onice (@onice.mx) Ollin (Noel Hernandez and Viktoria Barbo) (@atelier_ollin) Taller Batán (Sebastián Cappiello, Marco Cordero, and Emilio Torres) (@tallerbatan) Taller 222 (Patricia Gutiérrez and Mariana Villarreal) (@222taller) Shown as part of the 2026 MAIN section. Allow us to introduce ARUNA — and the talented hands behind it. Bandido’s newest collection begins in mineral form and arrives as warmth. The concept is the material itself: glass born from sand, transformed through heat, shaped into luminaires that evoke the first light of dawn. The steel axisremains visible. The structure doesn’t hide. Everything that made this object is part of what it is. Every piece that composes it passed through the hands of skilled craftspeople at Bandido’s studio in Mexico — the precise assembly, the thermoformed glass, the steel joints fastened one by one. At K’ab Juun, that’s exactly the kind ofwork we exist to show. The ARUNA collection is now available at the gallery. We’ll also be showcasing it at Collectible, November 6– 8th. Come see it in person. Comment ARUNA for more information. Coming soon to 38 Little West 12th St. Available now at the link in bio. #CollectibleDesign #Lighting #ContemporaryDesign #MexicanContemporary #lightingdesign by @kabjuun
Stone has its own handwriting. DON — by Ente.Arte.Objeto — is a tapered fluted cylinder carved from Mexican marble, deliberately simple so the material can take center stage. Each piece comes out different depending on the stone: the veining, the tone, the warmth. Same form, different story. Available in multiple sizes and materials at K’ab Juun. Comment DON for more information or come visit us at 38 Little West 12th St, New York. Link in bio. #MexicanMarble #CollectibleDesign #MexicanDesign #StoneObjects #MexicanContemporary by @kabjuun
In pre-Hispanic Mexico, volcanoes were where the gods lived. TEFRA — named for “tephra,” the material expelled during an eruption — is a sculptural lamp carved from volcanic stone by Amalgame Studio @amalgamestudio . The shade evokes the slopes of a dormant volcano. The quatrefoil base recalls the ornamental patterns of Guadalajara’s colonial architecture. When lit, the light passes through the pores of the stone. The material and the meaning are the same thing. Limited edition. On view now at K’ab Juun. Every Encrudo vessel is made by hand in Guadalajara by a small team of artisans. No two come out the same shape, the same texture, the same finish. Ana Paula Isaac founded the studio around one idea: return to the essential. This is what essential looks like across twenty pieces. Pictured at K’ab Juun. Which one would you take home? CARRYING CULTURE FORWARD. At K’AB JUUN (@kabjuun), contemporary Mexican design is not presented as a trend, but as an evolving language shaped by craftsmanship, experimentation, history and the hands behind the work. Founded by Ilana Goldberg (@goldberginteriores) and Dafna Puszkar (@dafnapuszkar), the New York gallery is creating a platform for Mexican artists and designers to exist within a broader global design conversation—while remaining deeply connected to place, process and tradition. “Every piece carries the hands of the maker. That’s just as important as the finished object.” — Ilana Goldberg Inside Issue 004: REMAIN, AoD Editor-at-Large @alvinwayne explores K’AB JUUN and the women championing a new generation of contemporary Mexican design. by @kabjuun
In Mexican churches, the facistol stood at the center of the choir — a four-sided lectern that held books open for everyone to read. Caterina Moretti @caterinamg of Peca Studio and Alan Rojas @nosoy_alan noticed something about it: the walls are an invitation. You choose what rests on them. Then they found that Luis Barragán had made his own — used to display his architectural plans at his studio in Mexico City, where it still stands today. Their Facistol takes both ideas and gives them to you. Four walls. A book, a drawing, a photograph, a plan. The object is never finished — it’s shaped by whoever owns it. Available at K’ab Juun.
