POSTS STORIES REELS

The summer hanging station is being forced indoors.

If you’re not happy with your net or think it could be fishing better, get ahold of me and I’ll do your gear this winter. Hanging a net is an intimate process of BUILDING the tool to complete your job. It is the most important tool a fisherman has and there is a science behind ensuring it’s perfect.

I’ve been really leaning into being more lucky than good and it’s seems to be working out. Feeling more blessed than I deserve. by @kaden.spurgeon

Spent 8 years of my life on a college education, just to do the same shit I’ve always done... Wouldn’t change it for a thing. by @kaden.spurgeon

How we all get into fishing varies drastically. Some of us are chasing adventure while others are escaping ex-wives. We all have our different reasons and stories for getting into this crazy lifestyle.

Our reasons for staying in the commercial fishing industry, though? Pretty unanimous: we love this shit.

Cook Inlet was alive for a few weeks this summer and it was an incredible experience to be a part of.

We are so thankful for this fishery and what it’s given us this year. Good days and bad days, we are some of the luckiest people alive to be able do what we do for a job.

There are more memories made by commercial fishermen in the summer than any other job on earth and I would put my life on that.

We will keep dropping teasers of the Cook Inlet season then post a long form video on our YouTube and Website in the next few weeks when we can get through the footage.

2023 Wrestling Banquet @theflatsbistro
I’M SO PROUD OF THIS TEAM by @kaden.spurgeon

We had our 2023 high school wrestling banquet last night at @theflatsbistro and based on the amount of tears shed you could have never guessed we were there to celebrate. Tears are a tough metric to judge joy but when you’ve had the privilege of being involved in so many great humans lives, sometimes it’s the most meaningful and accurate.

As a coach you get thanked a lot, it’s awesome, but all I can ever think back is “how lucky am I?”. I am the thankful one. I am so blessed to have these people and memories in my life. This a Bulldog Family, we bleed for this and we do it together. These kids have nothing but bright futures ahead of them and I’m so stoked for their lives that are about to begin.

Posting this for families to see. The slideshow at the end makes it long but these kids deserve recognition and appreciation for what they have done, so please at least watch until that point 🖤 by @kaden.spurgeon

Whole squad full of killers by @kaden.spurgeon

Bristol Bay fisherman carry a large amount of pride from providing not only the nation but the entire world with Alaskan salmon. And rightfully so.

We have beautiful moments in fishing, but most of the time it is the hardest and most trying venture a person will ever pursue.

And because we put our life and limb on the line on the daily, we believe we should be compensated fairly by our processors for our efforts and our sacrifices.

50 cents a pound is not it.

The industry will die if the fisherman can’t survive.
