WE NEVER FALL

Production for "WE NEVER FALL: Kumamoto" has entered a new phase.

What kind of landscape will Kads Miida (@kads_miida) depict in 2026, inspired by the mountains featuring the "Choban-iwa" (a rock formation) and the distant sea—elements found within the *Ryōnai Meishō Zukan* (a designated Important Cultural Property of Kumamoto Prefecture)? The artist himself is venturing, step by step, into uncharted territory.

The *Ryōnai Meishō Zukan* ("Illustrated Guide to Scenic Spots within the Domain"—a designated Important Cultural Property of Kumamoto Prefecture) is a 15-volume collection commissioned by Hosokawa Narishige, the 8th *daimyō* of the Kumamoto Domain. It was created by the domain’s official painters, Yano Yoshikatsu and Etō Yoshiyuki, and captures breathtaking scenery—including waterfalls, famous landmarks, and river landscapes—throughout the Kumamoto domain.

Art Trip: Autumn Edition part2
HINO BIG TIME GROOVE – Day 1

On October 23rd and 24th, I participated in the "HINO BIG TIME GROOVE" festival—held in Hino Town, Gamo District, Shiga Prefecture (the hometown of @dragon76art)—by performing a live painting.

Organized by @dragon76art, this one-of-a-kind festival brought together artists from all over Japan, made possible through the generous cooperation of the local residents.

The group of painters invited by @dragon76art included:
gravityfree (@gravityfreegram)
Doppel (@bakibaking, @mondotooo)
Cook (@cookdissizit)
Kensuke Takahashi (@kensuketakahashi1977.art)
NOVOL (@novol)
Kads MIIDA (@kads_miida)

All of us—artists active globally as live painters and muralists—were already in high spirits the moment we gathered the day before the event.

Due to wind and rain, the tents and stage that had been set up collapsed. On the morning of the event, we had to make a last-minute change, moving the festival from an outdoor setting to an indoor hall. Thanks to the swift, efficient work of the staff, the event went ahead successfully. As it turned out, the live painting proceeded very smoothly indoors, resulting in a truly wonderful artistic space.
