POSTS STORIES REELS
We made a movieee🥹 Last semester I wrote and directed a short film that’s so close to my heart entitled “Where We Go From Here!” 🌷 The story follows Zohra on her 16th birthday as she is confronted by the grief of her mothers passing and faces an unexpected spiritual journey to the other side 🕊️ If you’re in LA the film is screening ON MY BIRTHDAY this Friday June 27th at the @worldculturefilmfestival and I’d love to see you there! The festival highlights films that “uplift through art” and I’m so excited to share a film made with the intention to help myself and others process the lifelong journey of grief and start a conversation about how we remember and honor our loved ones 🥰 This is a story of hope after loss, showing one of the many ways to keep the spirits of our loved ones alive through intentional remembrance. This year marks 10 years after my mother Karen’s transition. Yes it has been painful and uncomfortable but facing the pain has allowed me to see the duality that exists within it, embracing the warmth and happiness of the times we shared and and finding ways to feel connected to my mother as time goes on. In a time when the world feels uncertain our stories stand as rays of light and creating remains important ❤️ Film Festival Ticket Link in my Bio!! 🎟️ Screening Block # : 2 | 11:15am - 1:15pm PDT Each film block will conclude with a shared Q&A session. Thank you to everyone who poured their artistry, love, and support into this film in any way shape or form! Special post for my amazing crew coming soon and film will be available to watch online when we finish festivals!! 🥰 CAST ✨ Zohra @raihyahh Dad @haile_dalan Little Zohra @obriella_genesis Karen @lonyeperrine Lily Woman @yuribrown by @kaixkayahh
EMMYS 2025 ✨ I had the amazing opportunity to be a Trophy Presenter at the 77th Primetime Emmys yesterday alongside @evannowack! Thank you to the @televisionacademyfoundation for showing us that are dreams are achieveable and there’s literally nothing we can’t do! 🥹 This summer I interned at the Television Academy Foundation in Scripted Series Production and had the honor of being a Bob Bennett Future Leader, learning the legacy of Bob Bennett and what it means to be a leader in entertainment from so many amazing trailblazers! I will carry these lessons with me as a director, producer, and writer and can’t wait to make shows & movies that inspire, uplift, and educate 🌸 If you have a dream I want you to know that the HOW & WHEN is not up to you, but if you know the WHAT and put your all into it even when it gets hard, you can make ANYTHING happen! 💖 Thank you to all my family and friends for supporting me every step of my life journey. Y’all mean the world to me! ❤️ And most importantly thank you GOD for orchestrating my life in ways I didn’t know were possible and carrying me through every challenge 🙏🏾 I’ll see you on set 😉 Hair: @ifeellikelame @jadacheriee Nails: @my_afrcnprnczz Makeup: @savvystarbeauty by @kaixkayahh
Happy Heavenly Birthday to my sunshine ❤️🎉 It will be 8 years in July since she’s left this Earth. A lady wrote my mother a thank you card describing her as “our nations light.” I’m not sure who the woman was, or how my mother helped her through her difficult time, but her word choice was nothing short of truth. She was a light in everyone’s life including mine, and I pray I am and continue to be a light in all of the lives I enter. I’m so grateful to have an abundance of pictures from her life and my family’s life. Looking at these pictures brings me so much joy and comfort, although they were not moments I experienced firsthand, I feel in a way, connected to them. Even though she cannot tell me about her life, these pictures tell it all. The story of Karen. The girl with the incomparable smile. Thank you for your legacy, your teachings, and for being such an amazing role model for me to follow behind. Everything I do is for you, and everyone else who has passed on before me ❤️ I love you, I feel you, and I won’t ever stop going for YOU! Or smiling lol! 😂 Endless, endless love, Kai ♾ by @kaixkayahh

#Repost from @blackhollywoodbookproject ITS A FAMILY THING❤️ Now let me tell y’all about a very special book created by an even more special person 😊 Last Thursday after our Snowfall event @uscaacs Carell was talking about his book to a brother, and I had to let him know if he was thinking twice about getting it, there was only one way to go! @carellaugustus is transcending time with this amazing reimagination of iconic movies & photos that Black people were orginally excluded from, and visualizing our collective beauty, talent, and power! Each moment you will see is intentional and magical! #BlackHollywood is inviting us all to dream and reconsider not only what is possible for the future, but the seeds we are already sewing now in REAL TIME 🦋 Thank you for sharing this masterpiece with the world, and for inspiring all of us young dreamers to keep dreaming unimaginable dreams! 🤍 #blackhollywood by @kaixkayahh
