This weekend, @supreme_chef_joseph and I traded serving chicken at @eatkaleenas for a little Vegas glam with @chloearnoldtaps, @maudiepooh, @cuerpaso, and @syncladies for the @paidinfullfoundation Hip Hop Grandmaster Awards! 🎶 What an honor it was for Syncopated Ladies to return to perform this year and celebrate the pioneers who helped shape hip-hop and paved the way for the art form. Thank you to Felicia and Ben Horowitz for having us and for your incredible vision in creating something that goes beyond simply honoring these legends!

And speaking of hip-hop… if you know my husband, you KNOW Joseph is a HUGE hip-hop head. So getting to watch him meet one of his all-time favorite artists, the legendary Nas, was a moment in itself! 🥹 A special thank you to Chloe and Maud for helping make that dream come true for him!

While in Vegas, we had the true privilege of witnessing another historic moment as we celebrated Intermountain Health’s Felicia and Ben Horowitz Children’s Hospital, set to open in 2030.

Hearing the heartfelt testimonies and learning more about the vision behind this hospital was extremely moving. Felicia and Ben’s hearts, generosity, and willingness to serve will bring so much hope, healing, and life-saving care to children and families for generations to come was truly powerful.

It was also such a blessing to see the amazing Ms. @alicemariefree, who opened the celebration with a beautiful prayer. I’m always so inspired by this amazing, bold woman of God and her unwavering faith! 🙏🏼❤️

And another highlight was meeting The D.O.C.! What a remarkably gifted artist and hearing him so unapologetically profess his faith and speak about the power of prayer?!

A Summer of Firsts. 🇺🇸✨

As an entrepreneur running multiple businesses, it can be hard to find balance. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to own and operate @eatkaleenas with my husband @supreme_chef_joseph, but sometimes it feels nearly impossible to find time together now that isn’t about chicken. 😂

So despite knowing this would be a super busy summer, we made a commitment to be intentional about carving out time for us and finishing a goal that, not too long ago, we never would have imagined for ourselves:

Visiting all 50 states. 😮🇺🇸

For the majority of my life, I flew coast to coast with most of my time spent between the same five states. Until 2020, I was genuinely afraid of road trips longer than four hours. 😂 Then Joseph and I got married, and @syncladies began taking us on the road together across the country. Little by little, it completely changed my perspective. Touring gave us the opportunity to experience corners of America we probably never would have seen otherwise and eventually sparked our personal goal of visiting all 50 states.

Going into this summer, I had Iowa, Alaska & Washington left.

Joseph had Oregon, Washington & Hawaii.

Somehow, in the middle of one of our craziest seasons, God opened the doors and made a way for us to finish what we started.

And with America celebrating its 250th, it felt like there couldn’t have been a more meaningful time to do it. ❤️🤍💙

As Disney lovers, we were also able to make some pretty special “firsts” part of the journey thanks to an incredibly unexpected and generous invitation from our girl @syndeewinters, and to my mom @lirret24 for taking that leap with my dad over 30 years ago and joining DVC:

🚢 Our first Disney Cruise to Alaska
🇺🇸 Our first 4th of July at Walt Disney World
🌺 Our first visit to Disney’s Aulani, where we celebrated our wedding anniversary AND Joseph officially reached his 50th state! 🥹

(Fun fact: Joseph worked on Disney’s live-action Moana, but left set early for us to get married. Spending our anniversary at Aulani, the summer the movie was released, was a full-circle moment! ❤️)

The intersection of Arts & Sports 💃🏻🏀

If you knew me growing up, I stayed as far away from sports as possible. I was always one of the last kids to be picked for a team in gym class and honestly I was Ok with that! I was notoriously afraid of any ball and covered my face whenever it remotely came near me. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Instead I was the one that went to hide out in the auditorium every chance I could and wore my Tap shoes down the hallways of my very sports oriented public high school acting like I attended Fame. 😂

When you remain true to who God created you to be and don’t worry about fitting in though, He will put you in places and positions you never could even imagine.

In 2006 I moved to Los Angeles, CA and all the years living there I never attended a single Lakers game. Now 20 years later, I stepped onto one of the most famous courts in the world with my clients @chloearnoldtaps @syncladies performing during halftime of a Lakers game. 🤯

What made it even better was having my amazing husband @supreme_chef_joseph by my side supporting my clients and repping @eatkaleenas. ❤️

Now don’t ask me to start giving you a rundown of stats or players now because I can’t, but I continue to have a greater appreciation of how Arts and Sports can coexist and the way they both bring all types of people together.

I’m forever grateful for the journey Tap Dance has brought me on and everything I’ve been blessed to experience with @chloearnoldtaps for the past two decades. Thank you for being the most incredible teammate! The lives we live our truly a gift! 🙏🏼 by @kaleenarallis

When you promised your husband you’d sing Fifty Nifty United States when you visited Mount Rushmore… (but are under the weather 🤧)

Who else remembers learning this song?! 🇺🇸
