Billionaire data center oligarchs are using their fortunes to rig our political system and pollute our community. Working people across Colorado have the power to stop them if we unite and harness our collective power. That’s why I spoke about the threats posed by data centers at last night’s Fort Collins City Council meeting. I applaud Council’s 7-0 vote for a temporary data center moratorium, an essential first step in reclaiming democratic control over this unregulated industry. by @kaorikeyser

ran into friends from DSA and COWINS at the Labor Notes Troublemakers School. so grateful for the opportunity to hear from the union members who shared heartbreaking stories of working conditions that led them to need to strike and how their coworkers came together to make things better. When we come together, nothing can stop us! #solidarityforever #unionstrong by @kaorikeyser

I am proud to stand in solidarity with Congresswoman @ilhanmn against the escalating attacks on her, her family, and her identity as a proud Somali-American.

If the Trump administration can do this to a sitting Congreswoman and a citizen, then none of us are truly safe from the rise of fascism.

As the Congresswoman emphasized, this lawless raid is a brazen attempt to silence her for fighting for the multi-racial working class. Immigrants and women of color are often the first targets of the authoritarian regimes that fear our courage and moral clarity.

I was honored to have the opportunity to meet her last summer at an event hosted by @menasacaucus and to hear her explain why we must all unite to confront the threat of fascism. by @kaorikeyser

Dark money groups are spending millions in Colorado against progressive legislators like @nguyenforcolorado.

@heidihenkelbroomfield is trying to weaponize womanhood while ignoring the reasons Kenny is able to lead (despite being a member of a racial group that faces really similar stereotypes, and the ONLY east Asian in the state house!). It isn't only problematic, it proves their point. #copolitics #vote #darkmoney by @kaorikeyser

got to hang out with some friends and fauna last weekend🪼🦥🐣🦦 (human friends not pictured) by @kaorikeyser

Everyone deserves a union - especially you! I'm proud to have had the opportunity to speak at the 4th annual Northern Colorado Labor Council May Day Picnic alongside other union members as well as worker champions in politics. We need to fix Colorado's tax system so workers can take home more pay, so the rich can pay their fair share, and so we can fund vital public services. #mayday #unionsforall #taxtherich by @kaorikeyser

This Halloween, don’t get tricked by corporate ghouls! 👻 One Main Street is dumping thousands of corporate dollars into local elections in Fort Collins and beyond. If a candidate in your community has received One Main’s endorsement, tell them to reject it to keep right-wing dark money out of our politics. And if you live in Fort Collins District 5 and want to stop giant corporations from buying elections, then support our grassroots campaign and vote for Zoelle Lane by November 4th. by @kaorikeyser

Last week, DSAFC members sent a memo to Fort Collins city leadership providing details on the municipal unionization procedures that are in effect under Denver’s recently passed Referred Question 2U.

This memo—co-signed by organizers with Connexion Workers Coalition and the Colorado Working Families Party, and by the President of the Northern Colorado Labour Council—was a response to an earlier memo sent by City HR Executive Director Teresa Roche. Roche’s earlier memo failed to include any useful information about 2U or municipal unionization and simply doubled-down on the city’s anti-worker position that it would only negotiate with unions that had been individually approved by citywide votes.

To help fill in the glaring gaps left by Roche’s memo, our coalition responded with the information that Council had requested and that Roche had ignored. Because FC city leadership was scheduled to go into executive session to discuss municipal unionization last Tuesday, one of our memo’s authors—DSAFC Treasurer, Kaori K.—spoke at last week’s City Council meeting to provide context for both memos and to underscore the importance of fighting for workers in the face of attacks on unions by Donald Trump and Jared Polis. by @kaorikeyser

Hear Kaori—our chapter treasurer—explain why her experience as a union member inspires her solidarity with the trans community. by @kaorikeyser

This Tuesday, members of DSA Fort Collins joined the Connexion Workers Coalition in asking Fort Collins City Council to recognize the union and develop a framework for broader municipal organizing.

This came after a memo was written by city staff, arguing that the city would only recognize unions that have been created through municipal elections, such as how the Fraternal Order of Police was created in 2004.

Hear Kaori—our chapter Treasurer—explain why council should recognize the union now, instead of kicking the can to the voters, and why they should work to develop a municipal framework for unionization similar to 2U in Denver. by @kaorikeyser

Hundreds of thousands of dollars of conservative dark money have been pumped into Colorado state legislative elections! This money is being used to undermine progressives like Yara Zokaie, Jovita Schiffer, Bryan Lindstrom, Obi Ezeadi, Kyra deGruy Kennedy, and Julia Marvin. Know who’s funding your politicians before you cast your ballot this election! by @kaorikeyser

At Tuesday’s Fort Collins City Council meeting, Kaori—our chapter’s Treasurer—emphasized that labor unions like COWINS, SEIU, and AFT have called for a ceasefire and urged council to come together with the community and do the same. by @kaorikeyser
