Today, the Theta Prime Chapter of Kappa Sigma joined Cumberland University in turning BLUE! 💙

Our members and fellow Cumberland students came together for Blue Out Day to support See Us Now and Missing & Trafficked Foster Children Awareness Week.

With more than 300,000 children in foster care and roughly 20,000 going missing each year, today was about bringing awareness to an important cause and reminding our community that every child deserves to be seen and supported.

Thank you to everyone who wore blue and stood with us today! 💙

Everyday first responders put their lives on the line and keep our communities safe. The brothers here at Kappa Sigma, Omicron-Zeta Chapter wanted to express our appreciation and give mahaloz to Captain Edward’s and Fire Station 22 Mānoa.

A big shout out to brothers Gee, Harris, Nguyen, Rieb, and Won who got to talk story with Walter and the firefighters who gave the boys a tour of the fire station.

Today, our brothers participated in the 9/11 stair climb hosted by ROTC. The event honored the lives lost and the heroes who answered the call on September 11, 2001.

We also made sure to show our appreciation for our local first responders by delivering pizza to fire station 4 in Lawton.

We are thankful to all of those who continue to serve and protect our communities.

Our brothers showed up today.

Treats carried into the station house. Flags planted. Stairs climbed, miles covered, challenges finished in remembrance of the people who did not come home that morning.

These are just a few of the chapters that marked First Responders Day in their own communities.

Some of it was simple and some of it was hard. Both count, and both say the same thing about the men who did it.

Congratulations to every chapter that turned out. Never forget.

Today, Kappa Sigma honors and remembers the lives lost on September 11th, 2001.

Among them was Brother Jeffrey B. Gardner (Gamma-Upsilon, ’84), one of six Kappa Sigma brothers who lost their lives that day. We honor Brother Gardner, and we remember the five other Kappa Sigma brothers whose lives were taken on September 11th.

We also recognize the heroic sacrifices made by the first responders who ran toward danger to protect others. We extend our immense gratitude to all those who serve and protect our communities every day, including firefighters, police officers, EMTs, paramedics, and all first responders.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember those we lost and honor those who put their lives on the line for others.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Each year, our brothers at Sigma-Zeta (Northwood University) honor the heroes who answered the call on September 11, 2001.

Brothers, it’s your turn to answer the call. This Friday, spend an hour with your local first responders. Drop off a treat and a card, snap a photo, and tag us.
