Thanks to all @artcorebrighton for another wonderful exhibition and month of events with @octoberunpacked and @discover_btn It’s such a lot of work to put together such programmes, as it is to make a space for 40 artists to have studios to make their work In a city like Brighton, at a time like this, when all space is being privatised at an ever increasing rate. It’s an amazing achievement! And all the better that it’s in Whitehawk 👏👏👏

I had a great time with @cronegarden and our touring @mosaicclub1999 making a small but special work The Fruit of Life for the Old School Studios garden. We’ll be finishing this and other pieces @whitehawkcommunityfoodproject and @avant.garden.brighton over the next months. Dates to be announced. Come along! All welcome!

The first image is my Womb Envy piece from the Between show, some quince as the quintessential fruit of the season from @at_the_coach_house, and the last slide lists all the artists making it so special.

@mosaicclub1999 will be Artcore in Whitehawk again tomorrow, part of @octoberunpacked
Last week we started this mosaic for @artcorebrighton garden, former site of the Steiner School, that is currently being regenerated.
I based the design on the Fruit of Life sacred geometry, made up of 13 circles, that are hidden within, or emerge from the larger Flower of Life.
The 13 circles represent unity, balance, and transition between realms or dimensions, often compared to a musical octave where the 13th note starts a higher frequency of the scale.
In Waldorf and Anthroposophical early-childhood or primary curricula, the Michaelmas daisy is frequently used as a symbol of inner awakening. While external nature fades and turns toward winter, the Michaelmas festival in Steiner’s philosophy is a call for the human soul to awaken, cultivate inner courage, face metaphorical “dragons” of materialism, and transition from summer’s outer nature-consciousness to active, self-directed spiritual thinking.
The Michaelmas daisy (Aster / Symphyotrichum) blooms abundantly from late August through October and November, making it one of the few vibrant, star-shaped flowers standing amid the fading autumn landscape.

There is also the opportunity to make your own artwork to take home- pls book this.
And we will be making sections for the Waterman @avant.garden.brighton
All welcome!

Happy Birthday dearest Zulu.
Kenny Zulu is 72 today and still not free.
Make today the day you buy one of these T-shirts that I designed a few years ago in reference to the Black Panther series that @obeygiant was making, hoping he would publicise this terrible injustice.

8 AM to 7 PM. All weather. Zero standing around. 🔥

An all-female crew took over Day 2 of our installation in #AshtonInMakerfield, showing the local site crews how it’s really done. Still buzzing from the incredible energy and teamwork with these amazing women! 🙌✨

Installing such a large and complex piece is always stressful- the responsibility of getting it right is huge. I like to share that burden with an incredible team of fellow talented artists and friends. It’s clear that they care as much as me to make sure we get this right. We always have such a fun time together that sometimes it almost feels like a holiday. Love my job - love my team. #ceramicart #publicart #potterylove #ashtoninmakerfield by @karenfrancescaart

End of the rainbow 🌈. Even biblical weather couldn’t stop my fantastic team from working. So blessed to have these great artists, women and friends to support me. Though we did have @studio_ask to help on the last day . by @karenfrancescaart

Our show @muse_at_269 The Revolution will be Ceramicised has now finished. Thanks to @carriereichardt and all who made it so good @portobello_film_festival

I’m really pleased to have sold this piece called
‘Bio- Weapon’ which comments on the tyranny of govt/ corporations, who are committing eco/ genocide in agriculture, food and medical systems, weather manipulation, warfare, etc etc

Not ideal installing conditions!!! But still we carried on - what a crack team - best bunch of mosaic troopers !! by @karenfrancescaart

Day 1 of installation, and we’ve already survived a vehicular assassination attempt. 💥🔨
On Monday, our 3-van convoy was cruising up from London when @mosaicallsorts blew a tire on the M5. A saint in a van pulled over to help jack up Tam’s van (which was packed with heavy ceramics and grout). The jack broke. The entire van fell on her hand. 🙃
The hero van-man literally had to PRY HER HAND OUT WITH A SPADE. The only reason her fingers weren’t flattened like a cartoon pancake? Her massive moonstone ring took the bullet. 💎✨
Cut to yesterday: no broken bones, an ice pack held on with gaffa tape, and Tam back on the tools. What an absolute trooper.
Basically, the entire team is currently running on shear willpower, determination, and a cocktail of over-the-counter painkillers to get this mosaic on the wall. What an incredible crew! 💪 @karenfrancescaart @wonnish_industries @emmadotstyle 🎨#MosaicArtist #InstallationDay #StudioLife #GaffaTapeFixesEverything by @karenfrancescaart
