the great wait is over. first kg show in a year this saturday with @knitting_band + @museums.mu for @popmontreal x @marchedp (free show innit) by @karmaglider
Presented in collaboration with the POP Montréal Promoters Program: Knitting + Karma Glider + Museums at Marché des Possibles (Parc Sans Nom/Mario Park) September 19th 2pm-5pm Free! 🎨: @genuine____leather From Montreal’s DIY scene, knitting is the guitar-driven indie rock band of Mischa Dempsey, Sarah Harris, and Andy Mulcair. The band introduced their wiry careening blend of indie rock on their 2024 debut album Some Kind of Heaven (Mint), which spent five weeks at #1 on the Canadian campus radio charts and earned the band press from Pitchfork, The FADER and Stereogum. Between touring the album internationally, knitting wrote, recorded, and produced their sophomore album, Souvenir. Montréal outfit Karma Glider propose a modern strand of indie rock, punctuated by elements from shoegaze, post-punk and noise pop. Touching on themes ranging from juvenile zeal and drug abuse all the way to love and spirituality, while employing raw materials from Britpop or 90s alternative as well as hip-hop inspired sampling methods, singer-songwriter Susil Sharma crafts uplifting tracks infused with a low-key punk attitude. Museums is a body of wonder ballads. When it looks at its hands, it sees clean nails and blistered fingers. Its body, a skeleton of grunge, alternative guitar music held together with pop sinews. Its pulse, carrying melody and sound through infectious rhythm and intimate vocals. In its heart, it feels urgency, catharsis and a drive to wade deeper into unknown territory. Genre is an afterthought. Instead, Museums threads genres as they come, weaving them into a gooey, psychedelic blanket. Museums has performed at Osheaga, Taverne Tour, NXNE, Festival sur le Cana, Gain Fest and Nuit Blanche for Montréal Boreal. Their latest EP, This Can't Be It, released on June 12 via Petit Village Records. *Parc Sans Nom (Mario Park) is an outdoor park. The grounds are fully accessible. The portable toilets on the premises are wheelchair accessible and gender neutral. 5885 Clark is the address for STM accessible transport. The park is located on the corner of rue Clark and rue de l’Arcade.* by @karmaglider
Merci à Joseph d'avoir été mon assistant 🖤 by @karmaglider

🎤 Lancement de « From the Haze of a Revved Up Youth » : 5 septembre, @casadelpopolo2, 15 $, avec les groupes Shunk et Poolgirl 𝓒𝓱𝓪𝓷𝓼𝓸𝓷𝓼 𝓭𝓲𝓯𝓯𝓾𝓼é𝓮𝓼 🌻 @lidopimienta : « Ahora » et « Aún Te Quiero » – Album « La Belleza » 🌋 @_apacalda : « Jealous » – Album « There’s a Shadow in my Room and It Isn’t Mine » 🎸@abacotrio : « Reflejos » – Album « Iridiscencia » 🏞️ @pigeon.musique : « Falaises » – Minialbum « Les falaises endormies » 🌇 @karmaglider : « The Breaking Light », « Sun Beats » et « The Line » – Album « From the Haze of a Revved Up Youth » ✨ @meggielennonxox : « Connexion astrale » – Album « Desire Days » by @karmaglider
