What happens when techno, krump, rap & Sri Lankan dance share the same question for two weeks? 🔥 During our summer residency at @tanzhausnrw , we came together to explore what HYPE really means — and what it can create when different worlds collide. It showed us how much energy there is in listening, challenging each other, taking space, giving space, and simply showing up for one another. Two weeks of movement, sound, sweat, questions, chaos, connection — and a whole lot of HYPE. And maybe the biggest thing we learned: we need to celebrate each other. Now more than ever. 🖤 @kavi.ndk @tresbernard @yevhenia_klenova @daria___nazarenko @karrrtell greatest thx for the wonderful invitation @schausomat and @lucie_ortmann best dramaturg team on earth by @karrrtell
🔥 ARM PLACEMENTS. MUSICALITY. DETAILS. LET’S WORK. Before EBS Festival kicks off, this is your chance to learn, practice, experiment and test yourself. 🫶 We’re hosting a FREE workshop with @richard_owizzy this Sunday at Bürgerhaus Reisholz in Düsseldorf — and ALL LEVELS ARE WELCOME. Whether you’re just starting out or already dancing regularly: just join us. 📍 Bürgerhaus Reisholz, Düsseldorf 🗓️ Sunday, 13.09. ⏰ 15:00–17:00 💸 FREE ENTRY And now we wanna know: WHO’S COMING? 👀🔥 Drop a 🫶 in the comments if you’re joining us — and tag your dance partner who needs to be there! Let’s use this moment before EBS to get better, get uncomfortable, try things out and have fun doing it. See you on the dance floor. ❤️‍🔥 by @karrrtell
Four artists. Four completely different worlds. One stage. 🔥 Tamil culture. Rap. Techno. KRUMP. Analog and digital music. On paper, none of this should fit together. But 3 days into our Summer Residency at Tanzhaus, we found the one thing underneath all of it: fire and joy. And instead of competing over who’s « more », we’re lifting each other up. This is rough, this is real — no fancy editing, just us building something from the ground up. A piece is coming together, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring it to life here. This is just the beginning. Let us know if you want to follow the process as we build this piece — we’ll keep you posted every step of the way. @daria___nazarenko @yevhenia_klenova @tresbernard @kavi.ndk @tanzhausnrw by @karrrtell
Before I show you what‘s empty, let me show you what I used to hold. For a while, my old studio „Kartell“ wasn’t really a studio. It was a space that filled itself with people - battles that broke out unplanned, fashion that turned the floor into something else, bodies moving until the walls felt smaller than they were. I wasn’t hosting an audience. I was standing inside something we were all making together. That place taught me most of what I know about presence. Now there’s a new one - a cube at Aderssstraße, still holding nothing but light and dust. I keep returning to how quiet it is. Not as an ending, but as a kind of held breath before whatever comes next decides to arrive. What happens here, I’m telling first through the newsletter - already out, waiting for you. If you want to be close when the silence breaks, that’s where to start. Link in bio. Which room do you still carry with you - the full one, or the one that hasn’t happened yet? by @karrrtell
