The inspiration behind this month’s print.

Back in January I took a “painting like the impressionist” class by @jackrossinsta - highly recommend, it was amazing.

During that class I had the chance to paint from a photo I took from my trip to Scotland the year before, and honestly I think it’s one of my best paintings.

The original photo was of St Anthony’s Chapel ruins in Holyrod park, Edinburgh. by @kassandra_lois

Been here almost a month, it’s wild how fast the days go by.

We spend most of our days walking the city. Most nights video games on the couch.

My creative practice has been on pause since the move but I’m starting to sketch again and I’m looking forward to getting into the art scene here.

I haven’t been creating much lately, partly due to a lack of ideas and partly because of some big feelings involving big life changes. 🏡

Inspired by @lithi.em.art to work on lettering in my sketchbook I took those big feelings and turned them into fonts.

When I’m overwhelmed I tend to avoid creating. I get scared to put myself out there or try to make anything, fearful it will be ugly and not worth it. With the added pressure of a fresh sketchbook I really have been avoiding my creative process.

Finishing this page helped to get some of those fears out. 20 minutes to relax and just colour, putting all those big feelings on pause… and dealing with all of it tomorrow instead 🫶🏻 by @kassandra_lois
