CELEBRATING 26 YEARS OLD (AS A FLORIST) TODAY !! πŸ₯‚πŸ₯‚πŸ₯‚ On this day 26 years ago, I fell deep in love with flowers and 26 years on I still love flowers and love what i/we do (everyday). 26 years ago I started my first florist job in Adelaide as a florist. A week before Valentine’s Day I was thrown deep into the job, working long and hard hours, only knowing the basics from floristry school which was far from the reality of working in a retail florist. I’ve always followed my heart and that was the reason why I moved to Melbourne. I followed my heart, fell in love and fell deeper in love with flowers. Together my husband and I created Kate Hill Flowers in 2007 from nothing but hard work and passion. We’ve somehow worked together (in seperate parts of the brand) for over 15 years and made it work. We’ve bought up 2 strong, beautiful and passionate daughters all while working. It’s a true family business with my family and team who I cherish like family. During the last couple of decades, life as a florist and business owner has been extremely rewarding and challenging on so many levels. Working in retail has its challenges and I could write a book on my experiences over the years! There have been ups and downs but thankfully the good definitely has out weighed the bad. But I love a challenge and I see every day as a new day and grateful that I’m here working with flowers, with a beautiful team and get to flower beautiful clients. My first boss said to me 26 years ago… you’ll either sink and drown or thrive and fall in love. I chose to fall in love and always thrive. Follow your passion and you’ll always be happy πŸ₯‚πŸ₯‚πŸ₯‚ #floristlife #oldschool #birthday #florist #katehillflowers #katehill by @katehillflowers
