Hi, and welcome to my little corner of bookfandom! 📚🤩

I hail from the California Bay Area, where I spent my first 25 years. Another 25 were spent in Best Virginia and a smattering of others in two different areas of Virginia with a short stint in Florida.

I moved across the country for love…and that love endures with the best man I’ve ever known (since December 1988, baby!). ❤️

I started writing short stories in junior high and dreamed of becoming a writer. I was an editorial columnist for 15 years before I got serious about writing books. Back when I was coming along, we were not encouraged to pursue art as a vocation lest we starve—and back then, there was no such thing as DIY. But I’ve published books in various genres the past decade and am thrilled to be writing romance now (as K.C. Lake).

Aside from my fictional worlds, my happy place is in nature. I live in the woods, love hiking mountains and valleys, kayaking on lakes, and traveling to places showcasing earth’s jaw-dropping beauty.

My favorite genre to read has become romance. I rarely read a romance novel prior to four years ago. I do read other genres, but I constantly gravitate back to romance!

TikTok and Bookstagram changed my entire reading life, introducing me to books and subgenres I never knew existed. It also burgeoned my TBR stack to over 100 physical books and 400 ebooks. I’ve enjoyed so many interactions with fellow readers through social media—it’s like one ginormous book club!

This is the first year I’ve listened to audiobooks. I have tried about a dozen, and some have proven to be incredible experiences.

Aside from reading and nature, I dig lifting heavy weights, food is my love language, I identify heavily as an Italian, and I’m a big believer in personal evolution.

I’m a sexagenarian (not as cool as you might think… I’m 60) but people always tell me I look much younger—and I still feel about 24 most days.

Enough about me…tell me something about yourself.

He’s a Texan with a temper. She’s as sweet as sin. When sparks start to fly, have they lit a deadly fuse?

Washington DC. Hank McCallister’s slow drawl hides fast fists. Staying busy in his spare time by breaking up bar fights in the nation’s capital, the happy-go-lucky twenty-four-year-old delights in rescuing damsels in distress. And when the charming hothead lays eyes on a petite sex bomb in trouble, he’s thrilled to lay out her boyfriend…and sign on as her latest squeeze.

Caught off-guard when his gorgeous new girlfriend announces she’s pregnant, Hank loyally steps up and proposes marriage. But as their volatile personalities clash, the big-hearted brawler fears he’s in over his head.

When secrets and lies turn tragic, will their steamy passion race to an explosive end?

Little Wife Lies is a standalone domestic fiction thrill ride. If you like flawed characters, lurking deception, and walking the knife’s edge of disaster, then you’ll love this battle with fate.
