Vespers - April 2026 🇷🇺☦️🪆🕯️ Written by Aiden Skelly @aidensmelly Directed by me! Stage Managed by Ian Ho @ianray1106 Scenic and Prop Design by Zoe Korff @zoe.korff Light Design by Amber Outlaw @howdypardnerz_ Costume Design by Majka Kiely-Miller @majkaskm Dramaturgy by Maria Pozdniakova @mariakuchinaa Photographs by Karl Rabe @karlrabe @vcdramadept This was my first time directing at Vassar, and it was a Drama Department show! I learned so so much and I was able to work with the most talented group of people. I will always hold this production so close to my heart, thank you to everyone who helped bring the magic of Vespers to life 🫶 This beautiful, beautiful show that I was so lucky to direct follows the lives of several disparate individuals in Leningrad during the Soviet Union’s invasion of Afghanistan. Brought together by the life and death of one man, the characters must confront each other as well as strange, spiritual forces with a mysterious, deadly purpose. A funny, poignant script about death, grief, family, and perseverance that asks us, in times of unnecessary violence, who is left to pick up the pieces? And how do we learn to keep getting up every day afterwards with less than we had before? by @kathleen__lynch
