The Great One came out for a show 🏔️

“The Great One” is a name used to refer to Denali, the highest mountain in North America, also known as Mount McKinley. The term “The Great One” is a translation of the Koyukon Athabascan name Denali, which means “the high one” or “the great one”

2024 you were weird, long at times, flew by at the same time and some low lows. But taking a moment to scroll back through the camera roll (thanks @outsidesomewhere ) it’s easy to let the lows overshadow all the special moments in between with some of my most cherished people. 2025 - imma do the best that I can with what I GOT *Mariah Carey voice* #2024recap by @kathleenelee

Halloween is my favorite holiday. As @gammaphibetaslo ‘s 2008 inaugural Creative Costume Award recipient, anyone who knows me knows I love costumes. My grandma and mom always kept a costume box. We dressed in costumes regularly at @truckeevarietyco. As a creative in general as well as professionally I have so much fun getting weird with it. When I started dating Dan it was weeks away from Halloween and he asked me to help decorate his house, in the neighborhood I grew up trick or treating. It was COVID but we made it work safely and each year we’ve built on it. This year our neighbors and friends surprised us all with their daily scarecrows that culminated in a live jam sesh. Another friend picked up the haunted house tradition his parents used to do. Friends and family came by, parents took pics and thanked us. I spoke earlier in the day w our neighbor Andres who used to be the hot house on the street (known for their tequila shots) and now they leave town and enjoy retirement - and he said he is proud the next generation is picking up the reigns. Especially with not having kids myself - it’s an honor and a responsibility to create memories for the kiddos, foster creativity and a little mischief. it warmed my black and orange heart to feel some traditions carry on. Reflecting today on the positive aspect of the holiday in Mexican culture #diadelosmuertos is about celebrating those who we’ve lost and keeping their memory alive. One of my favorite family friends lived just down the street and no Halloween was complete if we didn’t stop at Garee Lynn’s house. She passed away recently - she also didn’t have kids but treated my siblings like family and to get to do the same feels full circle. 🎃 Til next year! #spoopy by @kathleenelee
