Polar | Sleaford, ‘25 Honored to have been a part of such a special film. Big love to the whole team ❤️ Projects like this are why I continue to make films — when Sam approached me with the concept, I was hooked. But what made me stay, what made the work necessary were the processes the @mazeboundfilms team were adhering to. The film was shot in the directors hometown with local actors. Also operating as a teaching set, a number of stellar young people were on set (and pre production) completing their work experience by shadowing different departments. It is imperative that we continue to ask why we make films and who we make them for, especially within the contemporary hyper capitalist landscape that celebrates object over labor, content over concept. The “why” is now more important than ever. If you’d like to see the film, Polar will be playing at our VESTIGES screening in Acton on the 18th of April :) 📷 @mchristian_99 by @katiana.jasmine

Come thru! Next Saturday we’ve got a stellar line up of short films from London-based directors. Screening is free and open to the public. We’ll be kicking things off right at 11am :) VESTIGES: FRAGMENTS OF REMEMBRANCE & RETURN brings together five short films that engage with traces of the past through memory, myth, & touch. Haptic objects & ghost presences make opaque temporal boundaries in this hour-long showcase. 🪄 Saturday April 18th @ 11am @actone_cinema W3 6NA Donations welcome though link in bio. Images taken on/neighboring the Atlantic (1997 - present) We are either in time, of time, or out of time. These disparate relations exist as a false compass in the linear model of temporality. Time as classification, policing, restrainment. Adhering to linear models of time is not inherent, it’s a discipline, something learned. As I dig into my personal screen’s archive, I am wondering about retrocausality - because maybe I don’t need to learn how to drive time at all. by @katiana.jasmine
EP 01 : CHOREOGRAPHING INTIMACY FOR THE SCREEN | “GENERAL MAINTENANCE” the bonus features the bonus features are here! okay, well the first one anyway ;) our intimacy coordinators @chaniasungia & @cait.lh sit down with each other and engage in a dialogue that speaks to their methods and ethos. they break down key scenes in the film and honestly do a really lovely job of demystifying what it it that an intimacy coordinator really does. the link (of course) is in the bio ❤️ by @katiana.jasmine
WOW! General Maintenance is now available to stream online for FREE <3 As the year closes, I’m considering what we owe as art-makers. slide 2 - Why Cheap Art?” | @breadandpuppetpress ▶️ Watch Now 🔗 Link in Bio CREDITS ⭐️ @arielle_friedman_ & @markwallacett with @carmellamartiniquebonadio dir&dop 👋🏾 prod. @lingxyu 1st ad @alexsmithline pm. @solarcierra prod design @m_linhart art dir @grace_sutherland sound des. @softpower.wav composers Lukas MacKinney & @scoyoh color @kevingenkitsai script super @rae_chuuu 1st ac @aj.murray 2nd ac/dit @magic.h0ur cam trainee&bts @zelproductions sound @camilafrgomide gaffer @the_toppi key grip @jabari.jpg best boy @twizz_lr grip @clearskiesarebad grip @lawr.rence grip @kslay.ton intimacy @chaniasungia & @cait.lh pa @jacobpattonado Special Thanks @saulzaentzinnovationfund by @katiana.jasmine
