Trying hard to find beauty in these dark days by @katiemcbudreau

“The island in her slumber”
Acrylic on 8x10 wood panel 🤍

Even in the dead of winter, PEI is a natural beauty offering the most colourful of sunsets and sunrises. There is a stillness in the cold months here, as if she is asleep. The shores are quiet as the ice covers the shorelines up to hundreds of feet out, the wildlife is quieter, the snow acts like a cold soundproof layer beneath our feet

“September at Basin head”

Acrylic on 14x18” gallery wrapped canvas

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a painting!!
But I am back!
After a busy summer and September (amazing weather eh?!) I’m so excited to get back to my art again. This painting inspired by our kids first jump at basin head this September. The weather was perfect still and the beach had definitely quieted down, making for the perfect beach day 🤍

GOOLAHOLLA! 🩷🫶🏻

Such a beautiful and wholesome festival. Sooo grateful to be a part of it and this year seeing the kids be a part of it was so special! Some good ol’ fashioned kids fun, great food, amazing music, beautiful art and not one bad vibe as far as the eye could see!

Let’s do er again next year 🌈 🩷

Setting Day sunrise

Acrylic on 14x18” gallery wrapped canvas

Such an incredibly unique and special tradition here on PEI. I have never actually been to a setting day (getting up early is hard! lol) but one day I for sure will! I love the energy that surrounds the big day!
This painting was inspired by @theredheadroamer and her beautiful photo and video footage of the sunrise that day!

Anyone else SO ready to eat some fresh lobster?!🦞 by @katiemcbudreau

It’s a loud complicated world right now. While politics are important of course, it’s also really important to quiet the noise and take a minute to enjoy what you love. Pick up a book, go outside, enjoy a sunset, or maybe a storm.. just take time to yourself where you can just shut off and tune into your senses. We are all human and we all get overwhelmed.
Art is one of the many things in life that bring out the beauty in humanity. We are all creative, we are all art. I love sharing it, you never know who may need to see it 🤍 by @katiemcbudreau

Daydreaming at St.Peter’s Harbour

Acrylic on 20x20” canvas

This painting was inspired by the beautiful St. Peter’s harbour beach here on PEI. I love this hidden gem of a beach, it’s so quiet and and surrounded by tall grass and sand dunes. The lighthouse is a smaller lighthouse and sits tucked into the dunes. I love spending time here, listening to the grasses sway, and watch the puffy clouds go by 🤍
