For everyone who’s asked where I’ve been, this is the part I haven’t known how to share. I wanted to let you into what life has looked like beyond the posts and why my summer took such a different direction. To everyone who checked in, gave me time, and has continued cheering me on, thank you. I hope sharing this helps you feel a little more connected to the person behind what you see here. My dad believed in me through every new dream, and I want to keep giving him reasons to smile up there. There’s still so much I want to do, and so much of him in the courage to do it. Some of the people who helped us believe in our future don’t get to be here for it. But we still get to carry their love into everything we become.
Summer 2027, this one’s for you, Dad.🤍 by @katrina.nichole

too many things i love to limit myself to just one 🤍 by @katrina.nichole

Came home from Aptive Welcome Back with a lot on my mind.
Loved getting time with familiar faces and people I wish I’d spent more time with sooner.
I love that I can have this much fun with these people and come home feeling so inspired. So many conversations stuck with me. You leave a weekend like this excited to see what’s next for everyone, yourself included.
Had a blast this week, but I’m taking home more than pictures. A few things clicked for me, and I’ve got work to do.
Big summer loading. 🤍 by @katrina.nichole

a little summer & a lot of my favorite people 🤍 by @katrina.nichole

This year has definitely been one I’ll never forget. It brought some of the hardest days of my life, but it also reminded me just how lucky I am to have the people I do.
I’m learning that life doesn’t really pause when things get hard. It keeps moving, and somehow you learn to move with it. There have been days that felt really heavy, and days that gave me lots of laughs & both have continued to shape me.
Going into 26, I just feel incredibly grateful. Grateful for friendships, family, opportunities, challenges, and the little moments that remind me how beautiful life is.
I don’t know exactly what this year will bring, but I know I want to keep showing up. Keep chasing the things that make me feel alive, keep making memories with the people I love, and keep trusting that God has a plan bigger than anything I could imagine.
Here’s to 26… to growth, to healing, to belly laughs, to adventures, to dreaming big, and to never taking this life or the people in it for granted. 🤍 by @katrina.nichole

I’ve started and deleted this caption like 20 times. I never would have ever imagined in December when walking around exploring Europe that 5 months later I would be writing your eulogy.
My dad wasn’t the loudest person in the room, but always said the right things when he did speak. The person who made everything feel okay. The kind of dad that if something went wrong, forgot something, needed help, needed anything, he’d figure it out. He was the king of random rescues..forgotten school stuff, last minute problems, helping me study for tests for hours, long drives, airport pickups, life advice, helping me move, always somehow making stressful situations feel less scary. And if you knew my dad, you knew he would do literally anything for the people he loved.
He sat through years of things that honestly probably bored him to death, dance rehearsals, swim meets, choir concerts, track meets, long dance competition days… and somehow never complained. He just showed up. Every time.
He loved traveling, seeing new places, and somehow could find something good in almost any situation. There were so many more places he talked about taking us and it really just hits you that life can change in any minute.
I think the hardest part is knowing there are gonna be so many moments I’ll wish I could call you. Big moments, random moments, hard moments, exciting moments. I already have caught myself wanting to call your phone (I have called my dad every single day since moving away at 18). There wont be a day that goes by that I dont think of you, when i walk down the aisle, have my first kid, book my first big movie, im always going to wish my dad was there.
And Dad, if somehow you can read Instagram in heaven 😭 I just want to say thank you. Thank you for being patient, dependable, supportive, funny, and for loving us so well. I couldnt have asked for a better dad.
I promise we’ll take care of each other. I promise your stories and traditions won’t stop with us. Future grandkids are absolutely gonna know who you were and hear all about your travel stories, your random sayings, and how selfless you are.
Still doesn’t feel real. Say hi to Grandma for me🤍
I love you forever.❤️‍🩹 by @katrina.nichole
