2023 thank you for your trials. I am finally leaving behind a year where I evolved. My art, my motivation, my connections, all areas of my life have grown.
I’ve been thinking in metaphors as I reflect on the new year to come and the years past. Struggling with severe depression, anxiety, and ptsd for the last few years has caused a lot of dark spots to appear on my self image. I can look back now and see myself as a little tree, in need of some water and love while I pushed my way up against the strong stormy winds.
2 years ago I had a baby. She is wonderful and bursting with light! The moment I saw her I felt love stronger than my brain had time to process any kind of words. I pushed to just try that first year. Try and be the me I envision, the me I long to be. After slowly addressing every aspect of my life for 2 years I can say that I am so proud of myself. I know there is work to come and I still have immense feelings, but I feel prepared for once. I am ready to be me and accept whatever that entails.
I hope my story resonates and if you look back on my art from this year, maybe you’ll find a new favorite that inspires you!

Apologies to everyone that follows me on other socials and is seeing me post this for the third time, I just love it 😅
Literally threw this together for fun using new drawings, old drawings, animations, tik tik effects, and an older saved time-lapse video which happened to feel perfect for the beginning of the verse. It came together in the end to tell a story about finding love through my husband, our journey together, and then deeper love for myself, including the journey of my art. I included 2 drawings of my husband and me that felt so sweet to re-show. 💖💖💖
These JVKE challenges are fun to see and the music is so sweet to the ears. Here’s my random edit for a beautifully beautifully done verse by Annika Wells

Cherri 💣!!!!
Hazbin Hotel season 2 is out and I am fanarting again 😋🥰 This is one of the characters I would most likely cosplay at a con if I were to do a HH cosplay. Anyone else obsessed with this show and the music because I will follow you if I see fanart 🥴❤️🔥

I’d say she’s pretty into that book ✨👑✨
It’s a book titled
.
Crown Yourself
You Have the Power
by Napoleon Bonaparte
.
It’s a “what-if” kinda book like what if Napoleon was alive again today and became an influencer, and who would read it?
I also really wanted to capture the visual feeling of diving into a good book, the way it takes you places while you’re cozy at home✨📚📖

A Tea Party with my Self Portrait WIP
I sat down with my self portrait over some tea and it turns out we're both a work in progress

Self Portrait!
Does she look like me yet? Focusing on all the subtle shifts in my face was really amazing. So many lines, hard shadows, soft shadows, EVEN SOFTER SHADOWS, it blows my mind how intricate our faces become as we age. Its a story, memories, habits, love, heartache, the laughs, smirks, and quirks.
🥂here's to honoring my story through a self portrait in oil paint🥂
