@kaytlinborgen - thank you for joining the journey, through another unexpected meeting here in Topanga.

I honor the sacred art of filmmaking - and the land that holds us. Topanga is home to Matilda and me, and also to the Tongva and Chumash peoples whose presence shaped this place long before us. Their memory is in the hills, the canyons, the silence.

Impact Red seems to want to be born here, in Topanga.

I felt drawn to this place years ago without understanding why. And as the film grows, Topanga keeps providing for its birth - through the community, through the land, and through moments of unexpected support that arrive just when Matilda and I are on the edge again.

The story follows a woman awakening to what Indigenous knowledge has carried for generations:

that we are connected, part of nature, and responsible to something larger than our own ego.

The artists who’ve joined the journey felt that same recognition.

@realjohnsavage, @rubyulla, @keylawood, @kaempfenelie, @benkufrin and @_in._.bloom_

Each connected to the screenplay with an intuitive “yes” that felt rare and true.

As a widowed single mom in the arts, nothing about this path looks sensible - but something unexplainable keeps carrying us forward.

I give thanks for the land, the ancestors, the community, and the mystery guiding this film toward its birth.
