Five years ago today, Erin Kasemersky was tragically struck and killed by a distracted driver while driving to visit her sister. On this day, and every day since then, the James River community remembers and honors Erin and the valuable impact she had on our school and the people around her.

We are so honored to host the 5th annual Kasemersky Dance Invitational on December 5th, 2026, which raises money for a scholarship for two James River High School seniors who embody Erin’s incredibly infectious spirit.

We love you Erin💜💚 by @kdinvitational

Hello everyone, we would like to formally introduce ourselves as the organizers of the 2026 Kasemersky Dance Invitational! Our names are Izzy Morley, Julia Schleider, and Maggie Osterhout. As members of the Rapid Motion Dance Team and Leadership Specialty Center, we are so honored to continue this tradition and honor Erin Kasemersky.

The Kasemersky Dance Invitational is an opportunity for High School dance teams around the area to join together and celebrate the life of Erin Kasemersky by performing and competing under multiple categories. All of the event’s proceeds will be dedicated to a scholarship under Erin Kasemersky’s name to help uphold her passion for dance/athletics and give back to those around her. by @kdinvitational
