First-gen college graduate.
I’ve faced every odd stacked against me…grief, setbacks, and the kind of pain most don’t see. There were moments when giving up felt easier, and days I genuinely didn’t know how I’d keep going.

But God ! 🙌🏾

This degree carries more than my name. It holds every prayer, every tear, every dream..I did this for them! for the little girl who couldn’t picture a future, and for the woman I’m still becoming.

They counted me out, but turns out they couldn’t count. 😏👩🏽‍🎓

Thank you to everyone who poured into me and reminded me who I was when I forgot. This win is bigger than me! it’s for my bloodline, my community, and every soul who believed. 😚🫶🏾

Today I was recognized as one of California’s 8th Congressional District “2025 Women of the Year” by @repgaramendi ‼️ Being honored alongside so many incredible women is such a blessing. I’m deeply grateful and inspired!! 😭😭 Little ol’ me, and my name is stamped in the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. 🥹 God is so amazing, and I’m thankful He continues to use me to do this work. 💐
To my village, I love y’all most. Thank you for always pushing me to keep going. 👏🏾👏🏾
