OMG, I RAN MY FIRST 5K!!!! 😭🏃🏽‍♀️❤️

MEDAL MONDAYYYYY! 🏅🏅🏅

This was about so much more than running a race for me. This was about the new life, the new me, that I’ve been fighting so hard for. This was also for the man I literally watched fight through pain for months and run his own race on his own terms. ❤️

To think this started as nothing more than a thought earlier this year, and now I can actually say I ACCOMPLISHED IT! I’ve always been someone who would start something, but the moment I got uncomfortable or things became too hard, I’d quit. But the new me couldn’t allow that to happen. This journey required resilience, determination, discipline, and a level of commitment to myself that I hadn’t always shown. Even through the pain, exhaustion, and moments when I wanted to stop, I had to keep going. I had to keep pushing. I owed that to myself, and I owed it to my granddaddy. I knew I could do it, and I HAD to do it.

If he were here, I know he would’ve been right at that finish line waiting with the biggest smile, saying, “Come on, gal!” before giving me a kiss on my forehead. Oh, how I wish I could’ve seen that moment. 🥹This accomplishment means more to me than words could ever explain. I’m so thankful that when I crossed that finish line, my parents and nieces were there to celebrate this win with me. Having them there meant the absolute world to me.

And to my Sweaty and Steady sisters @sweatysteady , THANK YOU! For encouraging me, pushing me, cheering me on, and celebrating me every step of the way. I don’t take any of it for granted. Y’all truly welcomed me with open arms and gave me a safe space to be my bubbly, dancing, funny self. I prayed for a tribe, and God knew I needed this sisterhood. I’m forever grateful for the love, encouragement, and community y’all have given me. ❤️ @johnsonrunseries

Congratulations, @keepitjaszy_ on completing your first 5K at the @johnsonrunseries Run of Remembrance🎉👏🏽🏅

It was an honor to be part of such a meaningful milestone as you honored your beloved grandpa and it was beautiful to see our @sweatysteady sisterhood come together to support and cheer you on🩷🧡

Having experienced grief firsthand, I know how much it means to feel supported during times like these. I hope you always remember that you are not alone🤗

CONGRATS, SIS👏🏽🎉 by @keepitjaszy_

The season is heavy, but the foundation held. Digging deep isn’t about doing it alone it’s about leaning completely on God when you have nothing left. That’s right where you find Him. So don’t quit on yourself, and don’t you dare give up. In the middle of the turmoil is where He builds what can never be broken. We keep showing up, we keep believing, and we don’t fold here. 🙏🏽✨ Tag someone who needs a reminder to keep going today. #DigDeep #Resilience #KeepGoing #Overcome by @keepitjaszy_

Sometimes just checking in, listening, or reminding someone they matter can mean more than you’ll ever know. ❤️

LONG LIVE MY PARTNER IN CRIME MY GRANDDADDY MR BINGO 👑🕊️💙
I’m so P because of my granddaddy. That man gave me my hustle, my grit, that DAWG in me, and that quick wit I carry. 😂 He taught me how to work hard, how to stand on business, and how to make a way when there damn near wasn’t one.

My granddaddy taught me a whole lot about life… but he never taught me how to live this life without him. 💔 And baby, THAT’S the lesson I don’t know how to learn. I’d give anything to hear that man’s voice, sit beside him, or just have one more good ole conversation. “JASZY POOH or his GAL”

I’m gonna carry everything you poured into me for the rest of my days, Granddaddy. I’m your grandbaby, and I got you in me. 🤎🕊️ I LOVE YOU SO MUCH J
You legacy live on I can’t wait to tell my nephew Baby 4 about you and make sure he live up to the JOE LOUIS TAYLOR name 💙♣️❤️ by @keepitjaszy_

Sometimes the strongest person in the room is carrying something nobody can see.

Check on your strong friends. The ones who always smile, always show up, and always say, “I’m good.” ❤️

A simple conversation can mean more than you know.

💜💜 IN HONOR OF NATIONAL SUICIDE PREVENTION MONTH 💜💜

I’m sharing something personal because someone may need to hear it.

Since my teenage years, I’ve struggled with depression and anxiety. I didn’t always understand what I was feeling or have the words to explain it. After being diagnosed as an adult, so much finally made sense.

There was a time when I didn’t want to be here anymore. I experienced a nervous breakdown, was in a toxic work environment and unhealthy relationship, and attempted to take my own life more than once.

But God had other plans for me.

My nieces, my parents my brother close friends and therapy the reminder that my story wasn’t over gave me reasons to keep going. I started taking life one day at a time, entered therapy, and learned that asking for help doesn’t make you weak.

Today, I’m in a much better place. I still have difficult days, but I fight for myself—and for the little girl I call baby Jasmine, who deserved to know that life could become more than her pain.

Please check on your strong friends. Check on the ones who always say, “I’m good,” make everyone laugh, and show up for everyone else. You never know what someone is carrying behind their smile.

I’m still here. Still fighting. Still choosing life. Still choosing me.

If you’re struggling, please reach out. You don’t have to suffer in silence or carry it alone.

Your story is not over.

Baby Jasmine and I still have some living to do. 💜
