The Arkells performing at the Alumni game after party at the convention center. They do lots of cool covers including the Jackson 5, Abba, Robin as well as lots of their own songs by @keithgordonca
Jets Habs alumni game on Saturday featuring The Trews. I got to work supporting the band, and not from my usual vantage point. Normally I'm side stage mixing to the house, but The Trews had more gear so we set up under the bleachers. I was directly under the floor tom in the stage, which you can see when I pan up at one point. They opened with "Hope & Ruin" Set 2, at the first intermission was "tired of waiting". Lots of cool drone shots Then "poor old broken me" And ending the show in 2nd intermission with "not ready to go" by @keithgordonca
Busy weekend for hockey and music in Winnipeg. Friday night the True North Foundation gala featuring @mach10wpg . Great sounding L'acoustics PA made my job so fun, and the band is just so easy to make sound incredible. by @keithgordonca

Throwback Monday?!? So I found a book I'd been looking for the other day. 15 years since I'd moved back to Winnipeg from Ontario. Time flies. It had my first workout after completing the on-ramp at @elementwod in Mississauga. I always wanted the chance to repeat it later to see how I have improved over the years. Today I got to. The workout was called "baseline", though not every gym uses the same movements and rep schemes, much like the 12 Days of CrossFit workout. Element used 500 m row 40 air squats 30 situps 20 pushups 10 pull-ups 9:57 You can see back in February of 2010 I needed both a purple and a black band to get pullups. Last week I did a pull-up with a 60# weight on, so progress This was also in that first month back in 2010. CrossFit Total Back squat 215# Strict press 110# Deadlift 270# This year I did 350# squat 145# press (still room to improve here) 390# deadlift So yeah, getting stronger for sure. And make no mistake, 2010 Keith was playing soccer 7 times a week against players half my age. I was super fit, just not strong, and I hadn't learned about going to that dark place yet. So today, before the Baseline repeat, we had a max out 1 RM front squat. CrossFit Corydon is stacked with strong guys. My 10# PR was only good for a tie at #1. It took 3 tries and a bunch of valuable insights from @_roxanneduma to coach me up to this lift. If I had missed it I would have been down in 6th. That's how strong this group is. And this is no way a knock on anyone. These athletes have my utmost respect. It's all I can do to keep up and most days they smash me. Very occasionally I have a really good day and I take the opportunity to brag a little. Incidentally, compared to my 2010 back squat of 215#, I was still warming up my front squat at that weight. 225# was a double on the way up. Hell my front squat today beat my 2010 deadlift. Those are #gainz But to finish the 17 year CrossFit story, here's @alexcibiri and myself at the 2014 CrossFit Invitational in Toronto. This is the man who coached me those first 2 years and got me hooked on getting stronger and more gymnastically proficient. And if you've read this far, today's baseline score by @keithgordonca

So I can't aim a camera, but I did manage a 60# weighted pullup for a new 1 RM. And I got 3 x 45# right before this. I'm pleased, as at the start of the summer I could only get 1 x 45# and missed 50#. Before this was Monday's front squat wave: 3 x 185, 2 x 205, 1 x 225 3 x 205, 2 x 225, 1 x 245. Almost lost the grip on the last bar as 2 of the 4 fingers popped off during the ascent. But good to be under a squat again. by @keithgordonca
