Relief prints! Fishies were cut from linoleum, plus some letter stamps, and the kitty was printed from a laser cut wood block. Yay! The inspiration of the 2 fish came from when I was eating Swedish fish and there were two stuck together just like that by @kels.orchard

Some mock ups for a project I did in my capstone prep class! Little emotions cards. The idea here is to help small children get better at putting words to their emotions and be able to start thinking deeper about what they’re feeling. Maybe if a child is non-verbal they can express themselves better by picking out the card they relate to the most. Or it could be a matching game! Or a game where you try to mimick the emotions on the cards! These cards have not physically come to fruition yet but maybe someday! I don’t want to admit it but I quite enjoyed making mockups and using illustrator 🫵🏻🫤 by @kels.orchard

20 dogs !!! Not posting all of them by themselves but you can find them all on the last slide. Some of them aren’t the greatest but hey. When you make 20 dogs a few of them are bound to turn out wonky! This was very fun and I think it helped me learn more about what my style is becoming! I will be making a post on my story for people to submit names for them if they please 😎 by @kels.orchard

10 years of making art for you

Swipe for various maternal pieces of mine over the years (including one from 2018…err)

One of the last conversations I remember having with my mom was her telling me to keep making art and playing music. That summer in 2015, I started to get really combative about how I didn’t want to play sports anymore and wanted to focus on the things I actually enjoyed, like art and band. At the age of 11 I was firm in my belief that having a job you enjoy will give you a better life than a job that makes you rich. 10+ years later my feelings haven’t changed. And with the economy the way it is they probably should…. But shh shh anyway. no amount of judgement or shame will ever make me regret my choice to be an artist. This is what my mom wanted me to do and I’ve stuck with that ever since. Some days are harder than others, but that’s the motivating force that keeps me going. It has been a long 10 years, but now I’m an art student making things I love, working at a job centered around art, and I play with the Columbus Pride Band. If I’m catering to the wishes of 11 year old me and my mom, that’s all i care about by @kels.orchard
