Everyday I wake up and I think about how we can make this world a better place. Never in my life did I think that I would undergo brain surgery or start a non-profit. This journey has been one of the most self growth monumental periods of my life thus far. Constantly I ask why me? What makes me qualified to do this job? Watching this video is what opens my eyes to what I have to offer. Being a founder of an organization is not easy but giving back to the community makes it a lot easer to overcome mental breakdowns, moments of doubt and other obstacles. Thank you @snowbird for welcoming me to the team with open arms and for providing a platform to help elevate Save A Brain, I am eternally grateful. I truly have no idea what the future holds but what I do know is that I have been given a second chance and I will forever fight for a cause that is simply bigger than myself. Making an imprint truly takes an army so please join me as we create this movement together. Thanks to @snowbird, my @saveabrain team, family, friends and the community. I hope this video helps someone🤍 📹: @robaseltine • • • • • #snowbirdresort #snowbird #tbisurvivor #concussion #snowboarding #saveabrain by @kelseyboyer

KB ON THE MIC BABY! When I had brain surgery and could no longer compete, I honestly had no idea what my future in snowboarding would look like. This sport had been my entire life and I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to the community that had given me so much. Thankfully, I found my way back through coaching with @btbounds and eventually found myself behind a microphone. And let me tell you... I LOVE IT. Nothing lights me up more than hyping up snowboarders, celebrating the athletes, and bringing people together through a sport we all love so much. Getting to be a voice for snowboarding and bring that energy to the community is what it’s all about for me. I’m so grateful for the people and events that have trusted me behind the mic so far. It’s given me a whole new way to be part of a community I love and I don’t take that for granted! With that being said, I’m SO excited to be back on the mic this winter and would love to expand my skills and get involved in more events! Whether that’s emceeing, commentating, or running around with a mini mic interviewing athletes and creating fun content for brands, I’M IN! So if you’re putting on an event this winter or know someone looking for a voice to bring some energy, personality and a whole lot of love for snowboarding… I’d be honored to be considered. Holler if you need KB on the mic this season! by @kelseyboyer

This marathon was about so much more than 26.2 miles. On a personal level, this marathon has been incredibly healing. Since my brain injury, I’ve often been my own biggest bully. For years, I viewed myself as less than. I never felt like enough. I saw myself as a failure and questioned whether I was worthy of taking up space. You’ve heard me say that we are bigger than our injuries and the truth is, for a long time, I wanted to believe that more than I actually did. Training for and completing this marathon forced me to confront parts of my mind that were still carrying those beliefs. It showed me that I am capable of more than I ever gave myself credit for. This race wasn’t just about proving I could run 26.2 miles, it was about healing the part of me that thought I wasn’t worthy or capable. For the first time in a long time, I felt free from that voice. I felt strong. I felt proud. I felt like me. This marathon gave me something I didn’t know I needed: proof that I am bigger than my brain injury. And this is only the beginning. To everyone who supported this journey…thank you! Thank you for donating, cheering, sharing posts, sending encouragement, and believing in this mission. Because of your support we raised $10,000 for helmets through @saveabrain . Community is everything! And to my pit crew: I couldn’t have done this without you. Thank you for carrying me through the hard days, believing in me when I didn’t believe in myself, and reminding me why we started this journey in the first place. This finish line belongs to all of us baby! If you’re reading this and feeling like you’re not enough because of what you’ve been through, don’t believe it, you are stronger, more capable, and more worthy than you know. 🎥: @someginger & @__skiba__ #traumaticbraininjury #saveabrain #runningforbrains #grandmasmarathon by @kelseyboyer

10 years after brain surgery, @kelseyboyer is on a mission to educate people around the world about the long-term physical and mental impacts of TBIs and concussions in a digestible way! 🎧 Hear more on the #OnHerMarkPodcast with @_hannah.donnelly by @kelseyboyer
“If it wasn’t for my friends knowing the signs and symptoms of a concussion, I would not be standing here today,” @kelseyboyer says. “My brain was bleeding for two weeks, and my friends caught the signs and took me into the emergency room. After I was released from the hospital, I suffered from a lot of symptoms that I didn’t know anything about. My entire life changed.” In 2016, after sustaining several head-ringing hits in a two-month timeframe, Kelsey was diagnosed with a subdural hematoma that had shifted her brain 11mm. She immediately went into life-saving surgery. Read her story as it appears in Issue 23.2, “Kelsey Boyer’s Support Network,” the latest installment of our limited print-to-web series. 🧠 What if every student learned brain health before an injury happened? We’re excited to introduce the Brain Factory: a fun, interactive brain health program designed to help students understand how their brain works, build healthy habits, recognize concussions, and protect their future. Through engaging presentations and take-home educational materials, we’re making brain health education accessible, memorable, and actionable for the next generation. Because brain safety shouldn’t be something we learn after an injury… it should be something we learn before one. We’re currently looking to partner with: 🏫 Schools ⚽ Sports teams 🎿 Youth programs 🌎 Community organizations Interested in bringing Brain Factory to your students? Send us a message or email! Shout out to @jesstennysondesign for making this design dream a reality. #saveabrain #brainhealth #concussionawareness #youtheducation #brainfactory by @kelseyboyer
Never in a million years did I think commentating snowboarding would become something so meaningful to me. Honestly, I don’t think I fully knew my voice until @the__uninvited believed in me and handed me a microphone. They opened up something really special in me and I’m forever grateful for that. Thank you to this incredible community for always showing up, supporting each other, and continuing to push the culture forward. Getting to hype up these athletes and share their stories has been such a gift, and one thing is very clear… women’s snowboarding is in very good hands. ✨ BADASS! We love women’s snowboarding over here, and we can’t wait to see where all this yapping on a microphone takes us next. Shouts out to girlhood 💋 by @kelseyboyer
The @iheartradio event felt like a dream… but more than anything, it was a reality check. There is a real need out there. So many families don’t have access to quality helmets to protect their kids’ brains and even more don’t have the education around proper helmet safety and fitting. Because of this community, we were able to donate 800 helmets to families and kids in need with @saveabrain . Being part of this showed us exactly why we exist. Why we need to take up space. Why this work matters. It’s also a reminder of how powerful it is to support the causes you believe in. Because of you, we’re able to turn donations into real impact — just $25 puts a helmet on a child in need. Thank you to everyone who has supported us, shown up, and believed in this mission. We’re just getting started, and we can’t wait to share what we have in store 🤍 📸: @maedasadie by @kelseyboyer
