Spinal Cord Injury Recovery: Year 6
04/07/2025-04/07/2026

Happy 6th Life Day to Kendall🤍🎊 we are so thankful for all God has done & will continue to do! Today, we celebrate her life & the amazing young lady she is. Thank you to everyone who continues to pray & we ask that you would lean in & continue to.

As always, Kendall picked the song & all the photos/ videos in this recap. This song has been one of her anthems lately. We love you & are so proud of you, Kendall! by @kendalls_miracle

Welcome to Banner of Blessings! I’m Kendall, and this is my story🤍🎨🎗️

✨ We are so honored to feature something incredibly meaningful in our 2026 Leia’s Kids Gala Silent Auction ✨

This October 16th in Frisco, one of our silent auction baskets will feature these beautiful hand painted banners created by an incredibly special young woman, Kendall.

At just 12 years old, Kendall survived a rare spinal stroke in 2020, resulting in a spinal cord injury. Since then, she has turned her own journey into purpose by hand painting custom banners for children facing medical complexities and pediatric cancer, helping them feel loved, encouraged, and seen during treatment. 🎗️

We are so honored to include Kendall’s work in this year’s gala. Her heart for giving back is truly something special. Even sweeter, her sister Peyton is serving on our 2026 Gala Committee, and we are so grateful for their family and all they are pouring into Leia’s Kids. 💜

If you know a child who could be blessed by one of Kendall’s banners, please send us a message! She simply wants to bring joy to kids walking hard roads, and we think that is pretty incredible. #leiaskids #royalball #dallastexas #pediatriccancer #paintedbanners by @kendalls_miracle

September is Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month 🎗️

6 years ago at age 12, Kendall survived a rare spinal stroke that caused a spinal cord injury and paralysis from the waist-down. We are so grateful that God preserved her life that day🤍

Every. Single. Day. Kendall has shown up with faith & perseverance to fight for her recovery. I don’t think anyone really understands what goes into this physically and mentally, unless you live with someone going through it. There are a thousand little (& big) things to think about throughout the day when it comes to caring for her body, doing her home therapy, school, painting banners @bannerofblessings , and growing in her relationship with Jesus.

Never once has Kendall complained.

I truly am amazed by her & know the Lord is working in her life to bless so many others, too. Our family is beyond thankful for your continued prayers for Kendall’s recovery! I’ll do a post with updated prayer requests in a few days.

For now, if you feel led, leave a comment about how you’ve seen God in Kendall’s story or how it has impacted you. I think this is a sweet way to glorify God and encourage Kendall🫶🏻🎗️

When I was 12, I survived a rare spinal stroke that resulted in a spinal cord injury. Six years later, I get to hand-paint and donate banners to kiddos fighting life-threatening medical conditions, and it has been an absolute joy!

This experience has filled my cup in so many ways, and I know little Kendall would be so excited if she could see what we’re doing now☺️🤍🎨 God is so good!

Did you know it’s more difficult for lots of people with spinal cord injuries to regulate body temperature? This was true for Kendall’s body in the winter ice storms and in the summer heat here!

Hope you don’t mind us interrupting our regularly scheduled painting content to bring you a seasonal taste test as we try to survive this Texas heat 🤠🔥☕️

Kendall has been working so hard with her school, therapy, and painting banners! So I thought she deserved a little treat 💛💛💛 @lalaland

We had the tastiest dinner @eatfortunehouse in Dallas for my amazing momma’s birthday last week! Our favorites were the steamed pork dumplings & cashew chicken 🤤🥟

It’s always special to take a break from the daily grind & celebrate the people we love 🫶🏻🎉🎂

This is Kendall’s sister, and even though I’m a day late, I had to hop on here to wish Kendall a happy birthday! She is truly a gift from God and the easiest to celebrate🎂🪩🤍🥳

Thank you to everyone who continues to cheer Kendall on and pray for her. She truly appreciates it!! May this next year be full of exceedingly and abundantly more than she could ask, think, or imagine 🫶🏻

This was such a fun and rare afternoon! There’s a lot that goes into Kendall’s recovery after a spinal cord injury — like physical therapy, home workouts, etc. on top of school, painting banners, and growing in her faith 🤍

We went to the mall after grabbing drinks from @swigdrinks and we may or may not have even met a dog in Barnes & Noble 🥹

If you’re new around here, follow along for more of Kendall’s recovery journey, painting banners @bannerofblessings , faith, and daily life! We’re so glad you’re here ☺️
