Happy New Year! I still have a few days left until school starts again. It's so cold in here right now, around -20°C (-4°F), we haven't had weather this cold for this long in years, at least here in Southern Finland. I'm sad for how little I had time for dolls in 2023, and of course I'm hoping that I would have more time this year, but I'm really quite sure I won't. So if I dissapear for a month, don't worry. It's also hard to get back after a long time, since I'm not on board with all the events and challenges. But I will be checking dollgram once in a while. I'm really trying not to stress about doll stuff while I have so many other things to stress about. I'm probably living some of the busiest times of my life right now, meeting people and having quite many hobbies and responsibilities, school of course too. But I really want to keep doing doll stuff! How cool would it be to say that I have been into dolls since a toddler, and never stopped :D Going fresh to the New Year with a Fresh Perspective #maddolllove @margaretanndolls #doll #dolls #dollstagram #barbie #barbiedoll #barbiedolls #madetomovebarbiedoll #madetomovebarbie #dollclothing #dollclothes #dollphotos #dollphoto #dollphotography #dollphotographer #dollsofinstagram #dollsoutside by @kettudolls

Unfortunately all the nice things come to an end. This is my last post with the Traveling Doll Pants in Helsinki. Today, we are taking a look at some of the beautiful Art Nouveau architecture in Katajanokka, Helsinki! This style is common in the city centre, since it was built in the early 20th century. I have always loved this style of build, with all the warm toned colours and little details. Thank you all so much for following along my adventures in Helsinki, the capital of Finland! The pants are heading to Tallin, Estonia next with @dollsofinterest! Traveling Doll Pants is an international project connecting doll photographers from all over the world. Suvilahti is a former energy production area located close to the city centre. Nowadays, it is a cultural centre, and many especially smaller scale events are held there. There is a strong DIY culture in Suvilahti, and this skatepark is a great example of it. The Skatepark was built by volunteers from scratch during the 2010s. This was one of the first places I thought of when I was asked to be part of the #travelingdollpants project this year. I was heavily inspired by @bella_belladoll's famous Traveling Doll Pants skateboard photo, taken in the Port of Gdańsk. I think it's important to show not only the famous old architecture, but the culture and community of my own city in the TDP project. The Helsinki Metro, most recognizable for it's bright reddish orange colour, is the world's northernmost metro system. Over 400 000 journeys are made with the Helsinki Metro every day. I myself use metro daily to get to school. It is a pretty reliable service. The interval between trains is 2,5 minutes at the busiest times of the day, which is a very reasonable waiting time. I don't know what would I do without the Metro, since I don't live in the city centre. It is an important connector between the centre and the suburbs. Dear passengers, we will arrive at the Helsinki Central railway station... Our next stop is of course the Railway station, known as 'Steissi' in Helsinki. I travel a lot by train, so this place is quite familiar to me. The architecture of the station building is so cool. It was designed by Eliel Saarinen, and the building was completed in 1919. The station is a well known landmark of Helsinki and it is the centre of public transport. Over 250 000 passengers pass through the station every day. The Baltic Sea is an important part of the cityscape of Helsinki. I myself love the deep mysterious waters. The sea is beautiful in any weather, in any season. Unfortunately, Baltic Sea is also one of the most pollunated seas in the world. This issue has been taken more seriously during the last decade or so, but there is still a lot to do, and that applys to not only Finland but also other countries located next to the sea. Swipe for Behind the Scenes! It was a super windy day, Kaisa almost got caught by wind. Traveling Doll Pants is an international project connecting doll photographers from all over the world. Our next destination: The Central library Oodi! It was opened in 2018 and has become the most popular hangout spot in Helsinki. You can go there to study, hang out, have a meeting, get coffee, to sew, 3D-print and of course to borrow books. The third floor has great views and the whole space is very open and airy. It is a building that suits it's users perfectly. In the pictures you can see the building from the outside (1), the third floor with the bookshelves (2,5) and the black stairs (3,4). The stairs are an installation called "Omistuskirjoitus". The words written to them were submitted by the community, and they are all groups that the stairs are meant for, for example, women, asylum seekers, toddlers and hippies. Oodi has a lot more cool art too. Traveling Doll Pants is an international project connecting doll photographers from all over the world. First location in my Traveling doll pants adventure is Helsinki Cathedral (Helsingin Tuomiokirkko). It is a well known landmark of Helsinki and the most famous structure in Finland! It was opened in 1852, and built as part of the construction of the empire style city centre. The Cathedral is famous for the stairs facing the Senate Square right next to the building. The stairs are a common hang out spot, and a great place to eat ice cream! Helsinki has been the capital of Finland since 1812, but before that the capital was actually Turku, which the pants visited in 2020 with @elliefromfinland! Basically all the buildings are from time after that, since Helsinki actually wasn't that big when Alexander I, the Emperor of Russia made it the capital of Finland. Helsinki also has a Swedish name, Helsingfors, but it is unknown where the name of the city originates from. I'm so glad to have ya'll with me here. This is the first stop in our tour, but we've got many more to visit! Traveling Doll Pants is an international project connecting doll photographers from all over the world. The Traveling Doll Pants are in Helsinki, Finland! 👖🌍✈️ I'm so honored to be a part of this project! Since I'm an outdoor photographer, wandering around the city comes naturally to me, and being able to introduce all of you to Helsinki is such a cool opportunity. I have lived here all my life, so taking a tourist perspective is also going to be a lot of fun. Stay tuned! Hello! Long time no see. I haven't posted since the beginning of August, which is crazy because I've been thinking about ig all the time. I've been meaning to make a post like this for over two months, but I just haven't done it. I have still taken doll photos and have visited ig once in a while. But I guess this is sort of a life update. I have started my second year in Finnish upper secondary school, I had my 17th birthday little over a month ago and also my account anniversary. My life is very busy (not ver surprisingly), I have many projects and things going on. Doll photography was one of my only hobbies during Covid, but for little over a year I've had a lot of other hobbies and such, so I haven't craved something to do like I did in 2020- early 2022, when I did a lot of doll photography (I posted like 3 times a week, sometimes even more). I still enjoy this, and I'm excited about the Traveling doll pants project! I'll be starting my tour very soon. Yay! How are you my friends? Please let me know, I have missed you a lot!0 If you don't recognize the doll in the photo, that's my minime mini-Kerttu! #doll #dolls #dollstagram #barbie #barbiedoll #barbiedolls #barbiephoto #barbiephotography #dollclothes #dollclothing #dollhouse #dolldiorama #dollphoto #dollphotos #dollphotographer #dollphotography #dollphotogallery by @kettudolls
